“A Dream Come True” This property was absolutely perfect for my needs. I needed a place to stay for three weeks for business/internship. It was quiet and not in the hussle and bustle of kailua-kona, which is only a short distance away with a car or a longer run for the avid runner. This makes it perfect for a couple or family wanting more privacy, peace and quiet. There is plenty to do on this end of town within walking distance including kayaking, golf, movies, chocolate factory up the hill, running, biking, watching the manta rays at the hotel down the street, and of course watching the sunset across the gulf course. This place has everything you need to live very comfortably-- a living area turns into a second bedroom. The decor of the property can be described as a bali and zen like ambiance that definitely inspires peace. If I return to Kona, I will of course return to stay at this property. This was so much better than staying in a hotel and of course a better deal!
“A little piece of heaven on earth!” This place has it all, it was fantastic! The house was very accommodating and well-equipped, and had everything you need in the kitchen, and for the ocean - snorkeling gear, boogie boards and noodles. We come to Hawaii for the natural environment, and this beautiful setting is a feast for the eyes and soul. In the first 30 minutes of our arrival, we were greeted by a turtle lounging in the tide pools just below the house. Like most of the Big Island, the coastline is lava rock. But just to the right of this very special spot is "the bowl" - a favorite of locals where you can safely jump into the ocean, and there's great snorkeling right there in front of the house. If you just want to relax - so many options! Our favorite spot to read and nap were the over-sized hammocks hung between the palm trees, while the kids hung out in the lounge chairs on the extensive lawn. The oceanfront lanai offers more lounge chairs, dining table, and even a billiards table! The owners - Richard and Gloria - are the nicest people you could meet, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a dream vacation. There's only one problem with this place - it is so relaxing, you may never want to leave to see the rest of the island. But you must - because there's so much to do on the fabulously diverse Big Island. We will definitely be back.
“Enjoying Kona” What a delightful place to be on Kona---close to everything, but away from it all at the same time.
Every morning we are up skirting the golf courses at dawn and end up up at the bakery picking up yummy treats for breakfast which we enjoy while sitting out on the patio watching the dolphins swim by---almost daily. And the snorkelling out front is so clear that I feel like I'm flying over the coral and lava...love it!
“Country Club Villas are great!” We loved our three night stay at the Country Club Villas in Kona! It was a great location for us, as we kayaked across the Kealakekua Bay and snorkeled. (the best in the world!)
The beds were very comfortable, and I loved cooking in the kitchen and eating out on the lanai at sunset.
I will stay there again!
“Like Quiet? This is the place for you” If the stay was great, why not five stars? 1) The dishes and pots could have been cleaned better -- this could have resulted from the dishwaster (it had the smell of an unclean fish tank so we did not use it); 2) To have two supplies of paper towels instead of only one would have been nice. 3) A note pad and pen provision would be nice too. 4) The master bedroom lanai was unusable due to the fruit flies. 5) Fruit flies were also an annoyance at the front entry door in the evening, some get into the unit and your spending vacation time trying to eliminate the peskies. 6)Provided wash clothes were a bit old. 7)There is a single communal grill located off the pool, a grill near the condo would have been nice. Overall, this list is sooo immaterial to the quality of ones stay though.
The community is really quite, encourages recycling, has super comfy beds (if you like beds on the softer side); offers and incredible sunset; and may initially seems far from the resort beaches but if your staying for more than two days, you find that the location is just perfect if you know that you don't want to be in the heart of tourist haven.
