“A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the Spanish culture.” Gaucin is one of the most beautiful little hill towns. We wanted to be located where we could have the time to experience the Spanish culture and be close enough to see some of the important sites.Casa Mosaica was beautiful and in the center of it all. Emma was the most cordial host and provided all the details to get the most of our vacation. We were able to be in Ronda within fourty five minutes,the coast in half an hour and we even managed a trip to Tangiers with Emma's help.

“A splendid property with magnificent views.” This property offers a great chance for you to get away and totally relax. It is set within its own grounds, you are not overlooked by any other property and has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside wherever you are in the house. It has high quality but homely furnishings, an excellent well fitted kitchen, and a fabulous master bedroom with its own balcony. The other bedrooms are equally well decorated but spread over the 3 floors, which may not suite families with children, but we discussed this with the owners and they were thinking of changing the configuration of the rooms to accommodate this. Other than in the master bedroom, the en-suite bathrooms only have a shower head attached to the bath. A wall fitting to make it into a overhead shower would have been preferred. The indoor pool is an excellent choice if like us, you have children. The outside areas are just as impressive as the rest of the house. Several outdoor eating/seating areas all undercover, plus a large sunbathing area with comfortable sun loungers and parasol. The property is set over 3 levels so therefore spacious and as we were staying with extended family, it meant you could always find a quiet place to relax. The owners provided us with some basic provisions on arrival which was much appreciated and during our stay the gardener brought us peppers, tomatoes and aubergines from the vegetable plot which was a lovely touch. The village of Gaucin is very charming, with narrow whitewashed streets. There is a number of small but well stocked supermarkets, a pharmacy and a few restaurants. We visited nearby Ronda, a historic town, well worth a visit. I have only given 4 stars due to the condition of the road leading to the property. It is indeed a dirt track and a 4x4 in my opinion would be essential if you wish to travel freely in and out of the property. Miren, the owner, was more than accommodating during our stay without being intrusive, she kept us well informed through the booking process, met us in the local village on arrival, she even organised a digger to skim the road surface the day after we arrived to improve the road as we showed some concern. I would definitely recommend this property for a holiday. Don't let the road put you off, the owners are trying to resurface it but may take a little time, just book an appropriate vehicle. I would hope in the future to revisit and have very fond memories of our stay in this house. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
