“Homely and spacious property, with basic amenities nearby” Property was clean, homely and spacious. Typical quiet village-location feel, with a few traditional deli and bakeries within seconds walking distance in the main square, and a general minimarket store (closed for redecoration during our stay) - the other, 5-10mins walk, a larger supermarket (including clothes section, dvds, and an entire section dedicated to yoghurt ...) Finding somewhere to go for an evening drink was a recurring problem, despite the apparent number of watering holes we saw during the daytime, so plan ahead for nights "in", unless you want to go down to the Casino, where you will naturally end up paying over the odds for the pleasure. On a short stay, some very pleasant local walks in the woods by the lake for an hour or so, and quite possible longer if you looked at a map. Again, dining was always chez nous, though we did try the pizzeria, which was... a pizzeria. We made use of the visitor guides left at the property to get ideas for things to do; in the village itself, there seemed to be little. There's internet available at the property, though the wifi was sadly an intermittently functioning service while we were there, though this could have been due to us as eight people each with data-hungry laptops and smartphones assuming it could handle the traffic. Connect when you need to and you'll probably be fine. Given the poor weather, we enjoyed comfortable long nights in amusing ourselves in front of the warming fire.

The Farfollerie
A beautiful, elegant house in a lovely small town

We stayed for two weeks in October and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and well equipped, with a large sun-drenched kitchen equipped with everything you could need. It’s in an ideal position in the middle of the town so it’s only minutes to a range of patisseries with wonderful cakes and baguettes (we had to try them every day) as well as lovely walks around the lakes or along the Avenue Verte. It’s also ideally situated for trips to the coast or to beautiful cities like Rouen and Amiens. We visited Monet’s garden at Giverny and the Palace of Versailles (both stunning), so two items off my bucket list.see more

Excellent

A very comfortable, well equipped and clean gite. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had days out at the coast, Rouen, Giverny, and Gerberoy and ran/ walked parts of the Avenue Vert which is nearby. We had beautiful weather all week and ate all our meals outside in the secluded garden. The area is very quiet and peaceful but only 10 minutes drive to the supermarket and local town. Highly recommended.see more
