Clean and modern apartment in a great location

This is a lovely apartment right in the heart of Costa Nova. The area is very picturesque with beautiful striped houses and lots of good places to eat. The promenade with beautiful views across the harbour is just across the road and the seafood market is just round the corner. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away. Everywhere is well kept and clean. Paulo is very helpful and not far away, (his shop is underneath the apartment). The living spaces in the apartment are open and well furnished. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that the double bedroom is a little cramped and can get a bit stuffy, however if you open the window at night the air-conditioning system for the shop downstairs is right outside and quite noisy. … see more
APARTAMENTO PRAIA PORTO-AVEIRO
Great appartment and fantastic hospitality

Antonio and Cecelia were superb. We arrived quite late in the day one sunday yet they met us on arrival and treated us to some lovely cake/ bread and wine and then drove to an open supermarket to get us some milk. They were available during the week to help us and ensured the taxi Antonio had booked for us arrived for our departure. The appartment was great with lovely sea viewsfrom both balconies, and a special effort made to accommodate our family of 5. The Town is relatively quiet and has lots of bars and restaurants Catering for all choices. The tourist information lent us bikes for free, but get there at 9.20am for 9.30am openning as they run out. We had a great ride through the forest. A bus and train trip to Porto is worthwhile. The beaches were beautiful however the seas often rough and not ideal for swimming but ok for surfing.(more local surf beaches are better for surfing). The complex has however got two pools (cool outdoors and large warm indoor pool) other facilities were also good _ table tennis, squash,gym sauna etc. Some of the kitchen equipment could do with updating but this is a minor issue as it was clean , spacious and well equipped. Great location, quick to resolve questions

We booked through Holiday Lettings back in March and discovered, upon arrival that the advertised room had been double booked. We had the studio apartment in the same block: not great with teenagers, but the owner was apologetic and we settled amicably. Ovar is a great town, with enough facilities within very easy walking distance from the apartment. Two excellent (and not too noisy) cafes immediately outside the front door and open until late. Supermarket, restaurants, chemist, parking and the railway station all very easy to walk to. Stopping train Services into Porto and Aveiro are very cheap. Only 5km away is Furadouro beach, which can be hard to find parking at, but there's an easy bus and it's under an hour's walk. Loads of bars, cafes and restaurants at the other end. The sea and waves can be huge. The studio apartment is neat, has a nice terrace at the back, a double bed and double sofa bed. No clothes washing facilities, but I bought and left an iron / ironing board. Kitchen is basic but well equipped. You share a lobby with the 1 bed apartment next door, so remember not to bolt the front door. The bigger apartment has access to the lockable garage. … see more

Excellent relationship between price and quality.

We have spent one month in the delightful city of Aveiro in this beautiful apartment. Both the pictures and description reveal what the apartment really is. Fully equipped with all that is needed, it is very confortable, perfectly located and with the most beautiful view to Ria de Aveiro. Moreover, Marlene and her collaborator Conceição helped us to organize our days in a very enjoyable way. Thanks to them we had the opportunity to know more profoundly the city of Aveiro, the closest ones, as Porto, Coimbra and Viseu, and also some more distant places such as Guimarães, Fátima, and Alcobaça. Although we arrived much later than agreed, due to the delay in our flight, we were very well received. We are looking forward to return to this beautiful home in the summer of 2017 to enjoy the beautiful Portuguese beaches. Thank you very much for your kindness. … see more
