“Rural tranquility with architectural authenticity encapsulate th” This is what we had been looking for. The near-century-old farmhouse, at the end of a narrow country road, lay on a slope overlooking an open valley, with the lights of Málaga and the glimmer of the sea visible in the distance. The small town (with markets) was safely down-slope, and out of earshot. Neighboring goatherds, household pets and the wind provided the acoustic entertainment. Our hosts, who live next door, have restored the buildings with great care. The modern amenities and level of comfort left nothing to be desired, and the flavor of its earlier years is maintained. The owners have added a beautiful swimming pool, and lovingly tend the surrounding gardens. We note with appreciation the wealth of information available for the asking from our hosts. Their experiences of years of bicycle trips over the country and their seven years at this location are most willingly shared. The situation of this property is central to andalucÃa, with many towns and cities of interest within two hours' drive. In addition, the owners are accomplished artists (ceramics), a few of whose creations decorate the two rental units. For travelers whose interests include a sense of place (in addition to sun and warmth) we highly recommend Cortijo la Solana, and were saddened only that our jobs required our return to the north of Europe after only a week. “If you want an idilic situation, away from everything to relax and refresh - this is the place for you” The property is miles from anywhere but if you are looking to escape from the rat race this is the place. You will need a car - just to get provisions and also to visit some of the local restaurants and attractions in the area. This is a peaceful holiday in wonderful surroundings, definitely not a resort holiday but the property is beautiful, comfortable and has all mod-cons - you can take all those DVDs you've not got around to watching if you want!

“Outstanding villa with incredible views overlooking amazing lake” We hired this rustic villa with another family and it was fantastic. An amazing location and we were heartbroken to leave to be honest (especially to a rainy UK). The interior was very stylish with plenty of space to relax in a variety of quirky spaces, both indoor and out. The pool area is lovely and the views are incredible, especially from the roof terrace when the sun goes down. It was great having WiFi too as it kept the teenagers happy, along with the table tennis and pool table! Rob and Hilary were very friendly and accommodating too. Highly recommended.

“Absolutely Amazing!!” What can be said about this property and its owners that hasn't already been said. The property is simply stunning both in terms of what you get for the money and its location in the mountains. The views are simply stunning. Perhaps the best thing about staying at Finca Los Pinos are the owners, David & Sarah. We arrived to a fridge full of bits n bobs which was a godsend after an early start with lots of young (and tired) children. Their hospitality didn't stop there, constantly asking us if there was anything they could do to help out which was lovely. The BBQ that they put on for our extended family on the Tuesday night was just lovely, great food and quite a few cold ones in a perfect setting. I urge anyone staying here to ask David & Sarah about this option...its a must! Overall we could not have been happier with our stay...we WILL be returning customers in the future.

“A lovely house in a beautiful setting” The setting of Cortijo La Mata is beautiful and yet it is near to lots of interesting places and plentiful activities.It is a lovely place in which to just relax, sitting in the sun and eating outside or to use as a base. The service we received was excellent and Scott was always helpful and responded to any requests we made. Even though there were only four of us Scott opened up two sections of the house so we could choose where we wanted to be. We made full use of both areas. Although it is necessary to have a car we did walk into the village and take the bus into Granada (only half an hour and very cheap). This was very easy and saved the stress of trying to park. We wished we had booked for longer.

“Magnificent Views and Superb House” Sometimes when you select a property the photos advertising it are better than the real thing and you end up a little disappointed...that is certainly not true with casa Jose Ramon. The house is wonderful, one of the best we have stayed in. The attention to detail takes you away from the rental feeling and makes you feel at home straight away. It had everything we needed and more..our boys (5 and 7) loved feeding the fish and the pool was perfect for them. The view really is simply stunning and makes you never want to leave. We had plans to visit the big sites but the local area was so lovely we didn't venture too far. Loved the trip to Comares after staring across at if from afar, well worth a visit. Definitely recommend.
