Elegant and comfortable villa in a peaceful setting with lovely views.

Casa Vaddeddi is a beautifully designed cottage, in a peaceful setting surrounded by almond and olive trees. It is slightly elevated so benefits from a lovely sea breeze nearly all of the time, keeping the house fresh even on hot days. There are views to the coast and inland over the hills and plentiful places to sit and take in the scenery, including terraces on the ground and first floors. The cottage is very well equipped and has air conditioning both upstairs and downstairs, which we found useful on hot nights. The staircase is fairly steep so not suitable for very small children (ours are 6 and 8). The small swimming pool was excellent for the children and good for cooling off. The owners were staying in their second cottage, further up the lane, during our holiday and were very friendly and helpful. Casa Vaddeddi is about 15 minutes from Noto, which is a beautiful town, and just 10 minutes from a peaceful beach in the Vendicari Nature Reserve. There are many other beaches nearby. Etna is an hour and a half away; Siracusa is 45 minutes away and there are lots of possibilities for day trips either along the coast or inland to other Baroque towns, such as Ragusa and Modica. The house is an easy motorway journey from Catania airport (an hour and a quarter). We had a great holiday and would wholeheartedly recommend Casa Vaddeddi. … see more
