“Great apartment, good location and lovely views of the lake” My boyfriend and I stayed in the apartment for 6 nights and loved it. The location is perfect for easy access to the train station and those all important lake views! The apartment has big windows in the main living area and bedroom and it was a treat to open them each morning and see the lake right in front of you. I'm big on cleanliness and the apartment was spotless. Andrea's mother met us at the train station, we didn't speak Italian and she doesn't speak much English but we got by-she is such a lovely lady and it was a nice welcome to Varenna. Across the street from the apartment you can rent sun loungers for a few euros each day and this is also a good place to take a dip in the lake. You can easily wander from the apartment along the lakefront and across the Varenna walkway to the cafes/bars. You can also head up the cobbled streets to the town square and visit the gardens of the Villa Monastero. As there were so many nice cafes and restaurants close by we ate out most nights but the apartment has suitable cooking space for making small meals. It also had a hairdryer and good amount of bath and beach towels. We weren't driving but there is plenty of parking space in the grounds of the apartment. All in all, so glad we stayed in this apartment and can't wait to go back to the beautiful Varenna!
