The West Country region

Set in the popular Georgian seaside town of Weymouth, with its lovely sandy family beach and old harbour. It is just a 5-minute walk to Weymouth sea front and beach, and is a comfortable, family holiday home retaining many original features. Conveniently situated just ten minutes walk from the town centre, shops, restaurants and pubs.

You can take a boat trip along the Jurassic coast, walk in Durlston Country Park, board the steam train to Corfe Castle, and take a ferry to Swanage to see the restored Victorian pier or just build sandcastles! Dorset's famous Jurassic coastline, most notably Chesil Beach in Portland, but also Lulworth Cove, Kimmeridge Bay, and Durdle Door are just a short drive away to the east.

Weymouth, apart from being an ideal family town, with its famous sandy beach and beach entertainments is also a popular venue for those participating in water sports. Situated on the finest small boat sailing waters in northern Europe, Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy was confirmed as the official venue for the Olympic Sailing events in 2012. It is an exposed spot at the western end of the English Channel, providing some of the best natural Sailing waters in the UK, with facilities on land to match. Our accommodation is extremely flexible and we would do our utmost of facilitate people attending any sailing events. Please ask for details.

5/5

"Excellent - highly recommended - great location"

My wife and I stayed at Les Goelands for 4 nights in March, we could not fault the place. The house is spacious, well presented and had everything we needed for a relaxing break by the sea (which is a 5 minute walk).
The owners are very friendly and there was someone nearby if we needed help or advice on things to do in the area. Portland is great and there are some nice places to eat around the area.
I would definitely stay here again and we are planning to come again next year with some friends.

Thank you so much. Glad to have you as a guest and look forward to you staying again in the near future.
