Dai Raz
About the home
We offer a comfortable, tasty and simple accommodation. You will be staying in the first floor of our villa. The house is placed on top of a hill, from your windows you can enjoy the Lepini mountains on the east, the mount Artemisio on the north, the Circeo promontory on the south and vineyards and olive groves all around you.
This area is still very authentic and “off the beaten track”, Rome is only 40 km on the train, so you can spend a day visiting and come back to enjoy a dip on the pool and an authentic regional dinner that I would be happy to cook for you.
Guests are free to use the garden, which offers plenty of shady spots, sun-loungers and a swimming pool. There are also garden games for the kids and a table football.

I stayed at the apartment with a group of friends for a long weekend in September. The rooms were lovely, all tastfully furnished/decorated and spacious, the kitchen had all the facilities you would need. The pool was great, and in a lovely setting. We enjoyed our stay here so much that I returned with my boyfriend for bed and breakfast a week later after traveling down to the Amalfi Coast. We spent a day in Rome which was really easy to travel to by train from Velletri. Paola's breakfasts were also delicious- we felt spoilt. Both Paola and Paul were great hosts, very helpful and easy to get on with, but not at all intrusive for owners who live on the same site as the apartment. I would highly recommend staying here either with a group of friends or as a couple. |

we spent a relaxing holiday with the family in a quiet place, outside Rome but only one hour from the city center. Paola & Paul hospitality was great anf the kids (8 and 10) had a lot of fun with the swimming pool, the trampoline and the donkeys. Paola is one of the best chef I have ever met, able to mix the traditional italian dishes with a lot creative ingredients (with some indian/asiatic influence) and with real bio products (if you can try to eat there!). The appartment is very clean and lovely furnished in a nice rustical country style |

Paola and her little world in the countryside of Velletri is something you would not want to miss. The property is pretty big and well organized, from the family kitchen to the swimming pool everything seems to be a little miracle living a life of its own. Pure beauty mixed up with simplicity makes of Chez Raz a perfect staying for a couple of days or even more, for young couples with children, groups of friends of all ages and also singles who just wish for a getaway. Paola's kitchen is gorgeous, rich and healthy, in the tradition of central Italy cuisine with a taste of exotic and creative just out of the cylinder of the cook anytime. Paul's ability with huge barbecue's will blow you away, and the quality of food is astounding, very well selected and taken care of when it's not directly produced by their newborn agricultural company. Same as wine, coming from organic grapes and award winning winemakers of the area. And staying outside in the park after dinner till late in the night, by the swimming pool or at the candle light, with a great glass of wine or single malt whiskey in your hand - from Paul's wide collection, what can you expect from a true scotsman?, just enjoying their company is something that makes you wish to settle down there and don't leave anymore! Thank you Paola and Paul, and also Francis and Steve, and Olivia, Kitty, Duncan, for having had us at Chez Raz. And see you soon again of course! |
Guestbook for Dai Raz
Neil and family from Angus wrote: We spent a wonderful week there in July. It's a great place for family/friends get-together. The pool is fantastic, and the grounds are spacious, with various fruit trees, allowing for a 'quiet' moment, if required. It is bordered all round by vineyards. The town of Velletri is nearby(10 mins.by bus) and is good for dining, shopping, market. By day, we all did our own thing, and in the evening, dined al-fresco by the pool discussing past times/forward times.Paula provides a fantastic 4-course meal, with local wine flowing, all at very reasonable cost. Rome is only 1hr. away by local train, and various day-trips can be done by bus from Velletri. I would love to return sometime. It is well recommended.
Thanks for being such perfect hosts, in a wonderful setting. Paola's recommendations were excellent (try Zampi in Cori) all adding up to a week of lovely rest and relaxation - with a bit or Rome sightseeing to keep us on our toes. Coming back to the pool was perfection!
Thank you for a lovely stay. Villa very well equipped and located. Pool great. Our 4 years old didn't want to go home. Recommend train trip to Rome. Free parking at station and very cheap tickets. Try the open top bus tour.
What a fabulous week in Italy! We have seen so much, done so much and yet feel very relaxed and contented. We take away with us great memories of the wonderful sights we've seen and of the lovely new friends we've made - Paola, Paul, Olivia, Kitty and Duncan - we look forward to the next time we meet.
