The apartment is enjoyed as a family holiday home. It is on two levels on the third (top) floor and is light and airy due to its dual aspect. There are approximately 16 steps with rope hand rail from the entrance door to the first level where the master bedroom and bedroom two are located, both bedrooms leading onto the front verandah.

Level two comprises the sitting room and open plan dining area, along with a separate fully equipped kitchen and bedroom three. The sitting room and bedroom three lead onto a sunny south facing verandah. All balconies have chairs and / or chaises longues.

Vale do Lobo is a complex of whitewashed villas in the traditional Moorish style with arched windows and doorways, lattice work balconies and low rounded chimneys. The gardens are maintained with care making walking around the resort a pleasure.

Excellent amenities include a variety of restaurants and bars (at the Praca - cobbled square near the beach), fabulous spa and hair salon (at the Golf Club), medical centre and supermarket (at entrance). More extensive shopping is a few minutes drive away at Quinta do Lago and Almancil, and there is a lively marina at Vilamoura.

The high ceilings and through airflow ensure that the apartment is always comfortable even in the high summer temperatures of the Algarve.

The apartment overlooks the Vale do Lobo tennis centre and is just 1 kilometre from the beach.

About this location

The Algarve region

The Algarve has a warm climate from mid March to November and is most popular as a haven for golfers with a multitude of delightful courses in varying settings. However other activities are also in abundance. It enjoys long hot summers and mild winters with most of the annual rain falling between November and March.

This is ideal for outdoor sport enthusiasts but there are also various festivals in villages throughout the year and most large towns have a cultural centre where classical concerts and theatre productions are held (some in English).

There are also opportunities to visit museums and explore archaeological places of interest as well as taking an interest in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Beyond the glorious coast and the picturesque fishing villages are wonderful mountains, valleys, rivers and monuments.

Vale do Lobo

The resort of Vale do Lobo accommodates all requirements for a holiday including two championship golf courses, tennis facilities, swimming pools, spa, hair salon, medical centre, bank, restaurants and bars - not to mention miles of sandy beach.

Travelling a little further, there is a bustling market at Loule on a Saturday, the interesting Algavian town of Tavira and the beautiful mountain village of Monchique. The road network makes for easy access to places of interest. Loule market on a Saturday morning is lively - both inside and outside the Moorish building; as is Estoi outdoor market on the third Sunday of the month.

A long sandy beach is a fifteen minute walk from the apartment where umbrellas and chairs are available for rent. There are several beach bars, our favourite being Julia's - right on the sand. Sea watersports are available during July and August and waterparks with slides and tunnels are a few minutes drive inland.

Activities to enjoy throughout the year are tennis (there is an academy at Vale do Lobo), horse riding (PineTrees Centre on the fringe of the resort), walking and bird watching in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve (a 42 acre sanctuary for birds including nature tails at Quinto do Lago - a short distance along the coast), and go-karting in Almancil.

We stayed end of July and really enjoyed our stay. Very nice, spacious, clean villa. The balcony is like a sun trap and we spent a lot of time there. Great Value! Would certainly stay again. … More

We spent a very good time in Familia Burton. The apartment was much better than we imagined. The rooms are very large, and the bathrooms also great. The living room is very good with a Sony TV with lots of channels. The kitchen is very well equipped, but the Micro-wave is missing (we took one from our house), and this is the biggest complaint.
The number of plates and cutlery is small, but is ok.
The balcony is very good and we had wonderfull breakfast in it.
The house is very fresh, even without Air conditioning.
