The Tenerife region
Tenerife, a Spanish island, is the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. About five million tourists visit Tenerife each year, which is also one of the busiest Spain resorts and the first of Canary Islands. Tenerife also has one of the world's largest carnivals, and the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife now aspires to become a World Heritage Site.
The island hosts in its capital the architectural symbol of the Canary Islands, the modern Auditorio de Tenerife which is also one of the main buildings of Spanish architecture. Tenerife is the only Spanish island that has two airports and two ports (the others have only one port and one airport each), which makes Tenerife the most interconnected in Spain.
The Playa de Las Americas / Tenerife Royal Gardens area
Siam Park, Tenerife's new water kingdom is already established as one of the best water parks in the world.
Loro Park (also known as ‘Loroparque’ in Spanish) is a man-made paradise featuring parrots, killer whales, sea lions, dolphins, penguins, gorillas, chimpanzees, jaguars, tigers, alligators, sharks and many other animals: You will need a full day to enjoy the entire park.
Monkey Park
The amusement park are situated in the South of the Island of Tenerife, at only five minutes distance from the touristic centre of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos.

Teide National Park
The national park of "las Cañadas del Teide" in the volcano mountain that occupies the centre part of Tenerife has been a protected area since 1954. Here you will find some of the most spectacular landscapes of the world, including an enormous volcanic crater with a circumference of 30 miles (48km), out of which rises the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide. In contrast to the coastal regions of Tenerife, winter in the park, which lies at about 6,562ft (2,000m) above sea level, brings snowfall and strong winds, while in summer temperatures can soar to above 40ºC. A cable car carries visitors to the summit, but many prefer to hike the route to experience the flora and fauna, including rare specimens like the violet of the Teide, the Tajinastes, and the many varieties of lizards and birds.
Pirámides de Güímar
On the eastern coast of Tenerife, south of Santa Cruz, stand six mysterious step pyramids whose origins are still unknown to archaeologists. The pyramids were initially thought to be just remains of agricultural stone terraces, or random piles of stone cleared from fields by early Spanish settlers. However Thor Heyerdahl, the Norwegian anthropologist who lived in Guimar until his death in 2002, thought differently. His research indicated that the pyramids were constructed on similar principles to those in Mexico, Peru and ancient Mesopotamia. The pyramids are now enclosed in an Ethnographic Park; the site includes a museum, life-size replica of Heyerdahl's reed ship Kontiki, a coffee shop and souvenir shop.
Masca
For scenery a visit to the northwest tip of the island of Tenerife, around the picturesque village of Masca, is hard to beat. The village is set in the Teno Mountains, clinging to the slopes of a deep green ravine beside a narrow road full of alarming hairpin bends. Until recently Masca was off the beaten track and not accessible by road. The zig-zag drive from Santiago del Teide has now opened up the village and its amazing setting, reputed to have once been a pirate’s hideaway. Hikers have popularised a two-hour walk from the village through a gully to the sea at the base of the majestic cliffs of Los Gigantes.
Garachico
Garachico has around 6,000 inhabitants - along with Buenavista and Los Silos forms the 'Low Island'. It is a quiet historical town which was in fact the island’s most important port until it was destroyed in 1706 by a volcanic eruption. There are several historical monuments - the Saint Michael Castle, the Churches of Santa Ana, Santo Domingo and Our Lady of the Angels. The whole village is practically a living museum. The popular 'romeria' (country festival) of San Roque has been declared of national tourist interest. Garachico is also well known as a 'craft' centre and Craft Fairs are frequently held around.
Restaurant Bianco (Italian)
The restaurant Bianco specializes in original Italian cuisine and reflects head Chef Marcelo Corrao´s versatility with home style cooking and authentic Italian ingredients. Amongst the most outstanding establishments in Playa de las Americas, here brushstrokes of elegance dominate. A modern minimalist layout of the restaurant and cocktail bar adds a clean touch to a usually traditional experience.
Restaurante Bianco also boasts one of the most highly appointed private dining venues on the south of the island, ideal for wedding receptions, corporate events, holiday parties and banquets for up to 65 people. The restaurant is located on the top floor on the left hand side of the Safari Centre, overlooking the musical fountain.
Teppanyaki - offers Thai cuisine, in Adeje, Tenerife. Fantastic restaurant.
Thai Botanico
The asian restaurant Thai Botanico in las Americas ticks all the boxes when it comes to exotic dining in Tenerife. Apart from the real individuality of every dish is complimented by the absolutely stunning terrace area with its beautifully rich mixture of lush plants & bamboo. The restaurant Thai Botanico has a collection of amazing decorative pieces all the way from Thailand, Vietnam and Bali creates a warm inviting atmosphere giving a real feel of being in a restaurant perched on a hillside in Thailand, whilst you are on holidays at the Canary Islands
Monkey Bar & Grill
The decor is pleasantly Eastern in theme, and the building houses a cafe, restaurant and cocktail bar.
A great little restaurant and cocktail bar

El Rodeo
If you're a meat fiend, drop what you're doing and head to El Rodeo as fast as you can. Meat is delivered on swords, salad by the dustbin lid-ful (just joking). When you've had enough, you show the waiter the red card provided. When you just want to keep stuffing your face with lamb, steak, chicken, pork, warthog, buffalo and every other kind of meat you can think of, just keep the green card showing. It's a novel experience, and one that works. I defy you to leave this restaurant feeling undernourished.
Faro Chill Art
Sensationally stylish, freakishly funky and featuring one of the best sound systems in the Canary Islands.
Upstairs you'll find the cocktail roof terrace, complete with mini lighthouse. Expect Balinese beds and cabanas, smack-in-the-face views over the ocean and coastline and chilled sounds under the stars. If you have any sense, you'll head there at sundown, order the special frozen mojito, sink into a scatter cushion and watch the sinking sun turn the sky a glory of fiery red. Do that and you've experienced a Tenerife sunset in the best possible way.
Downstairs lies a funky dancefloor, multiple bars and a number of chillout terrace tables. If you're up for a colourful night, you'll not be disappointed, not just with the neon pinks and electric blues, but also with the local talent. This is THE place to see and be seen with 'the beautiful people', especially on the frequent party nights
TIBU TENERIFE is by far the most exciting nightspot to go clubbing, a truly sophisticated club for all the beautiful people to enjoy the glamour that TIBU...

This was our 3rd trip to Tenerife Royal Gardens, it is in my opinion one of the best locations in Playa de las Americas, giving you the opportunity to venture into Playa or Los Christianos. A fantastic array of shops, bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk including the 'Golden Mile'. The apartment itself has everything you need (fridge, kettle, toaster, iron etc), all the essential channels on the widescreen TV. Internet Access is a no go around TRG - it's there but not very good. The bar next door has access if needed. I would certainly book this apartment again. Response: Thank you very much for your kind review and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best Regards Zivile |

This is a lovely apartment on 1st floor with a large balcony and pool view. The accomodation is well equipped and very clean. The complex is right by the beach and you can hear the ocean at night from balcony. The complex is quiet, mostly older couples and family groups (not the place for party animals!) We had a lovely stay and have no hesitation in recommending this apartment. Response: Thank you very much for your kind review and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. We had a lovely holiday. We have been to Tenerife before and chose this property because of its location. It is in a great location for the beach and for a good selection of shops and restaurants. It is a fairly quiet area good for families and couples etc. There are very few bars nearby but plenty at about 15 - 20 minutes walk. (The party area). You can get a drink at any restaurant though. The complex is a little tired and worn in places but clean & tidy. There is no "open" pool bar or snack bar on the complex as originally thought and looks to have closed up years ago. Would have been nice to get a cold beer or ice cream! In fact several retail outlets in the reception area are deserted for some reason which was strange & a shame. Because it is a private complex, there are no staff about really, no receptionist and no one to ask anything. But there is a security guard who was friendly enough. During our stay there were few English people/families staying, a couple of Irish families and several spanish and german groups. All were friendly enough. I was surprised there wasn't more english people though for us and the kids to chat to around the pool etc. The pool area however was very nice and a life guard was present in the afternoons. There was the famous rush for sunbeds in the morning which was almost comical when the beds were unlocked at 10am. We did always manage to get some beds however even if it did mean doing a "towel run" in the morning! It was a pity there were no parasols, especially to protect the kids from the sun occasionally. But over all the pool area was very nice and we spent a lot of time there. Apartment B25 was in a good position and in good condition. It is a lot smaller than i imagined but served its purpose. It is a studio rather than a one bedroom apartment after all. There were two adults and two children in our party and the apartment was just about big enough. I would not have wanted to be sharing with 3 other adults however. The apartment was clean and tidy and pretty modern. A couple of negatives: There were a couple of broken tiles at floor level that resulted in stubbed toes, an electrical socket was broken on the wall which was dangerous for kids (i reported this twice but nothing was done), there are also very few utensils etc in the kitchen. I also had to request fresh bedding & towels for our second week as none was going to be supplied. I had an idea no cleaning was included but expected fresh linen. However we were supplied with some after we requested it, so all good in the end. Also we had a new sofa bed delievered after a day or so as apparently the original one was broken! We hadn't noticed anything! The new one looks good but is not very comfortable unfortunately. There is little information in the guest book and so it advised to do some research before you arrive although it did point out a cheap supermarket about 15 minutes away that was half the price of the tourist supermarkets. We went on a couple of trips to Aqualand and The Jungle Park. These were both nice days out and you could get free buses to both parks at a bus stop about a 15 minutes walk away. We ate out at several places. The Safari shopping centre and area is very nice, especially at night and we had some lovely meals there. (however one or two of these restaurants were very expensive it turned out. Especially the Indian restaurant where kids cokes were silly money it turned out!!). There is lots of nice lighting and water displays etc along this street making the area quite glamorous. We did however use one restuarant in the other direction from our apartment, down near the beach and next to Mcdonalds called the "President" i think. Very nice, friendly and fair value and we went several times for steaks & paella etc. The booking with Mrs Zivile was smooth and straight forward and carried out as requested by email. We also got our deposit back without a problem at the end of our stay. Her assistant in resort Maria, was friendly & available when called. Over all, for the price we paid, this apartment was very good value for money and i would recommend it. Everything was as advertised and pretty much as expected (except the lack of Pool snack bar & English families). The location was great as we thought it would be for our needs. We had a very nice holiday and would return again if the prices remain the same. Thanks Zivile for a nice holiday! Response: Thank you very much for your kind review and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best Regards Zivile |
