The region is one of the most beautiful places in France, the land of d'Artagnan and 'The Three Musketeers'.The Gers boasts an astonishing 146 chateaux, one of the largest and most imposing of which is that of Lavardens, built on a limestone outcrop. One third of modern-day Gersois villages are original medieval bastides.

Abbey Flaran to Valence-sur-Baise,The fortified village of Larressingle and Cité des Machines du Moyen-Âge (engineering in medieval times) you get to dress-up and take part in the firing of medieval weapons. The college of La Romieu and arboretum “Les Jardins de Coursiana” La Romieu. Eauze museum of Roman treasures. The pretty circular bastide Fourcés. The village of Lectoure (architectural tours: cathedral, former bishop, etc) and its thermal centre. Many nearby towns have their own swimming lakes with water slides, beach, snack bar and woodlands.… plus many more!

"Friendly and relaxing"

Stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of July and had a really wonderful holiday despite the unlucky weather. Matthew, Jillian and their family are extremely welcoming and helpful and Matthew recommended good day trips and restaurants for us. The gite itself is excellent; lovely rural, peaceful setting, and very spacious and comfortable inside. We enjoyed the swimming pool especially and eating our meals outside which is a novelty for us living in Edinburgh! We would definitely return as we didn't get a chance to explore much of the surrounding area and I think our 6 month old will appreciate the playground, pool and space when she's older.
