Home descriptionThe Villa is located near the village of Marlia (2.5 km) where you can find every kind of shops, banks, post office, chemist etc. The estate is family owned and it is rented directly, no agencies.VILLA IOLANDA is not an independent homeone side of the home is attached to another building but there is a private fenced garden with private whirpoolas well as a car parking.Guests can share the use of a very attractive 12x7 m. swimming pool with a marvellous view of the countryside and with garden furniture. There is a ping pong table, a coin washing machine and a barbecue corner with tables and chairs. VILLA IOLANDA is part of a working farming estate, you will also find goats, ponies and a couple of horses. The activities in the farming estate are at first relax by the pool or in the gardens and just do nothing, but you can also horse back riding, paracliding, hike around the hills or stretch in the "Vita Parcour" of the estate. Kids are free to move around, no car, except for pack and unpack, are allowed to transit in the centre of the estate. There are many golf club spread around the area, the location is between 40/90 minutes driving (Forte de Marmi, Tirrenia, Montecatini). Tennis club in Lucca, sport fishing in the Serchio river, sea side in Viareggio or in the most exclusive beach of Forte de Marmi, visit the marble caves or the artist sculptor in Pietrasanta only one hour driving, visit Garfagnana the mountain area of Lucca with all the fenced small town where you still can feel the emotion of the Medioeval time or you may visit the well known towns of Firenze, Pisa, Siena and why not also Venice (3 hour driving) or the famous "Cinque Terre" only one hour driving.

It's a marvellous region full of history, art, very nice landscapes and secret places just round the corner. One of the things that most of the people doen't know, is that you are just a stone's throw from everything, so pick up your car and take any road and go, you will discover fascinating, amazing small villages, small country churches riches in works of art, cosy small "trattoria" where you can taste the real homemade italian food and the typical food of the area like the "farro" or "pecorino cheese" all cooked only with the world famous and unique olive oil of Lucca and, please, taste the also famous wine "Vino delle Colline Lucchesi" or just seat in a village cafè have an italian coffee and an artigianal made ice-cream. Lucca / Piana di Lucca areaLucca is one of the few towns in the world that keeps intact the wall fence, dated 17th century, all around the town. Lucca's inhabitants are used to say that inside the wall there are more than 100 churches,. Admire the beautiful "Palazzi", the mansion of the Lucca's noble, dating from 14th century, the museums, the botanical garden established in the 19th, century by Elisa Baciocchi, Napoleon sister, or just wandering around those very narrow medioeval streets and you will perceive a different atmosphere of quite. In town as well as in the surrounding of Lucca there are a lot of very elegant shops and restaurants or just cafeteria or gelateria for a pit stop. Don't forget Puccini! July and August are very special there is the Season at the Puccini Opera House in Torre del Lago (40 minutes from your home) and in July the world famous Summer Festival in Lucca. September is one of the best time to visit Lucca, more than the Puccini Opera played in the Teatro del Giglio, the theatre of Lucca, there are a lot of markets and many events: the most important is the "Procession for the Volto Santo" on September 13th, the biggest festivity of Lucca with at the end big fireworks and the town all lighted with candles where the procession pass. If you arrive by plane the closest airport is PISA (Ryanair) about 40 minutes driving or Florence one hour driving, The suggestion is to rent a car at the airport (Hertz, Avis, Europecar).
