The Aquitaine region

5kms to local shops and supermarkets in Castillones, ATM machine, restaurants and pharmacy. The pretty bastide towns such as Eymet & Issigeac are only 10kms away also have good shopping facilities and many restaurants. For the whole shopping experience and dining, Bergerac is 20 minutes away where you can explore more of the vineyards and activities such as the water theme park and water sports, golf range, laser quest, children's soft play area.

The area is well provided for shops, restaurants, places of interest, vine yards, wine tasting, river trips, markets in Bergerac, Issigeac, Duras, Eymet and other local villages. In the summer many have delightful night markets to sample local wines and produce. There are pretty walks and of course the mountain bikes for the more energetic.

Castillonnes is just one of the many bastide towns to visit locally. Villereal, Monflanqin, Issigeac, Eymet are all within a short drive and provide a wealth of restaurants, bars and shops and fresh local produce on market days. For keen garden visitors there are a number of beautiful gardens to visit within a one hour drive.

For those wanting a sandy beach there are 2 scenic man made lakes within a 20 minute drive; Lanquais, overlooked by a beautiful chateau and Lougratte both with coffee shops, climbing frames, slides and rowing boats.

"Charming old property converted to high standard of comfort, set in peaceful countryside."

A delightful property in peaceful location. Lovely views, wild flowers and birds.
Delightful garden designed by friendly and helpful owner, Claire. She and her husband have created an excellent holiday home with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was a good 'starter
pack' of food and drink. We were in Lalandusse for our son's wedding in the village. The sun did shine for the 'big day' but otherwise the weather was unseasonably poor so we found the Sky TV, books and games useful. The swimming pool was scrupulously cleaned, covered at night and opened up early each morning- shame it wasn't heated but normally not needed by this time of year. Claire kindly let our small grandchild play in their well equipped garden. A car is needed to reach Eymet or Castillones for nearest shopping, markets and eateries. The young enjoyed the use of the bycycles to explore. Plenty of interesting places to visit in this area though gets busy in high season.
We unhesitatingly recommend this property.

"Beautiful Villa & Swimming Pool"

What a fantastic week we had in le pigeonneir!

Villa was spacious and beautifully presented. All the personal touches made it feel very homely. We travelled with young children, and the extensive grounds, toys and large swimming pool made this the perfect family getaway.

The Riley's were the perfect hosts, extremely helpful and generous - the welcome hamper was very much appeciated when we arrived as the supermarket was closed!

Can't wait to return next year.

"Typically French!!!"

What fantastic accommodation! Everything you want for a fabulous stay!
It was a very private location, alllowing one to relax and unwide.
We were there for the sunflowers blooming across a wonderful vista from the terrace.
Very clean and all needs were catered for.
A wonderful welcome pack was there for us when we arrived.
You will not be unhappy if you choose Le Pigeonnair.
Looking forward to our return visit!!!
