"Authenticity with all the modern conveniences!"

What a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful old stone farmhouse! We highly recommend it. Our hostess, Josephine and her husband and family made us feel so very welcome! And the yummy homemade bread and treats were a lovely touch. A great central location for touring the area and yet away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger centres. We would definitely return to Feirm Cottage if ever back in Ireland.

We are truly grateful that you took the time to write a review of Feirm Cottage.Your comments and recommendations are much appreciated. They also confirm for us the characteristics of the cottage which we always hope make it an enjoyable experience for those who stay there.

"Well appointed and very comfortable cottage in stunning location"

We thoroughly enjoyed a 3 night stay in this property during the early May bank holiday. The property is very well appointed and maintained to a very high standard. The 3 bedrooms are all a good size … More

Thank you for leaving such lovely comments on Tripadvisor, they are much appreciated. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that you were pleased with both the cottage and its location. On the cost of utilities unfortunately in addition to the basic unit rate for electricity there is vat and additional government taxes and similar for oil. However at Feirm Cottage we try and minimize those for our guests by using measures like low energy light bulbs and thermostatic controls on the radiators. We have been awarded Silver by the grading system of Green Tourism Scheme for this and other sustainable measures which we undertake to reduce our impact on the environment. On the size of the lounge for 6 people,we do draw that particular feature of it being a traditional cottage, to the attention of groups with this number of adults wishing to stay.
Thank you again for your comments and recommendations.

"A quiet refuge. "Suaimhneas.""

If you need to go off grid, this is the place to do it. It is a peaceful rural location nestled in the rolling countryside. The tap water is crystal clear and tastes so sweet. You see all the stars on a clear night. Good location to travel to Killarney , Kenmare and Beara Peninsula. A well appointed house. Hosts are brilliant and are knowledgable on all local attractions. We highly recommend the pancake house near by. The wood burning stove was wonderful during an autumn evening.

"Ideal rural retreat with spectacular scenery."

On our arrival we were met by Pat O'Neill and his purebred Kerry cow. He welcomed us to Feirm Cottage gave us a brief history of the cottage and showed us around the property. There was complimentary turf and firewood for the wood burning stove in case we needed to light a fire. Later on that evening Josephine O'Neill came up to introduce herself and recomended plenty of places of interest to visit while in County Kerry. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and set in the ideal location for walking, cycling, fishing, sightseeing or just for relaxing. There was a pub, petrol station, shop and horse riding facilities near by. Kenmare and Killarney were only a short drive away and the cottage was a great base location for exploring County Kerry and West Cork.
