From the manager

The Monastery is the village's Landmark, together with the little church of Elias the Prophet, across the alley. Currying a long history it has been restored to meet today's holiday makers' living standards, while maintaining its unique charm and authenticity.

It's located in Mavrikiano, a small settlement built on the top of a hill, over the Mirabello bay and the seaside village of Elounda. Even though this area lies, practically at the edge of Elounda, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Mavrikiano village, manages to keep its character of a typical Cretan village and thus you, our visitor, can wonderfully combine, the simplicity of village life with the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Elounda. The beach lies just 8min walk away.

The Monastery accommodates 6 people, comprising three separate bedrooms, which offer complete privacy. All balconies, graciously offer panoramic sea views, overlooking the picturesque town of Elounda and the Bay of Mirabello.

The house's arched gateway allows you to enter the small courtyard, where you'll find a private plunge pool along with a cozy sitting area with kitchenette and a BBQ.

To the left is the house entrance. On walking past the front door, to the left is a comfortable sleeping room with a double bed and to the right a full bathroom ( with bath ).

The wooden stairs bring you to the mezzanine floor. Here and on the right is a bedroom with two single beds (1930's make and style), and on the left is another bedroom with a large iron matrimonial bed of same age and style.

The stairs continue to the first floor, and to the kitchen, with a large Monasterial table for 6 people and a fireplace. Further on, by the corridor, lies a small bathroom, and past that there's an ample size sitting room.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
