Villa les Hauts is a luxury newly built cut stone property built in the traditional style, on a small exclusive prize-winning development overlooking the old village of Durban Corbieres in the Languedoc region of Southern France.
The accommodation consists of two double and one twin bedroom, one en suite shower/WC and a further bathroom and WC, living/dining room and kitchen, private heated swimming pool, sun deck, barbecue and terraces for relaxing outdoor dining.
The house is furnished very comfortably to a high standard by a professional interior designer. There is Satellite TV receiving stations in French and English, DVD player and DVD library.
In the kitchen there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, micro wave oven and conventional electric oven and hob.
Outside seating for 6 in a sheltered terrace, with a landscaped garden with additional seating areas and views of the medieval Cathar Castle of Durban Corbieres. Teak deck with heated swimming pool.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region
Mediterannean Climate with warm dry summers. The ancient Cite of Carcassonne is only an hour away and the Cathar route is on the doorstep. Narbonne with its famous covered market Les Halles - open till 1.00pm except Sundays - is only 30 - 40minutes away. The Canal du Midi passes through Narbonne and there are a number of good restaurants in both Narbonne and Carcassonne. There is also a Michelin starred restaurant just 4 kilometers away. Details of local attractions and rerstaurants are described in a manual kept in the housealong with local maps and a guide book. The wine growing regions of Corbieres and Fitou are on the doorstep - many of the vineyards have restaurants attached. There is an organic wine grower within walking distance of the house.
The beaches of Leucate and La Franqui are only about half an hour away and the ski resorts of Font Romeu are two hours away in the Pyrennees, The Spanish Border just south of Perpignan is about one and a half hours away by motorway. There is good motorway access to both north and south as well as west so Toulouse in only an hour and a half away. To the north there is Sete on the coast where the Canal du Midi reaches th sea. There are superb seafood restaurants alongside the canal.
Durban Corbieres area
Durban is in the Corbieres region in a hilly area with beautiful views and marked walking routes. In Durban Corbieres there is a Cathar Castle on the hill in the old part of the village. The small river runs through the middle of the village - separating the old from the new. There are several local wine and honey producers from whom you can buy local produce. The region does have a Spanish influence both in language and cuisine. There are festivals in Durban and the surrounding villages in August and before Christmas. For younger visitors there is a wild life park at Sigean and aqua sports on the Mediterranean coast.
How to get there
Ryan Air to Carcassonne, Perpignan. Each is about 60kms from the house - about 50 minutes drive. Flybe to Perpignan, Hertz car rental with Ryan air flights. Motorway within easy reach of both airports. House about 30 minutes from motorway.
