Tarnside lodges are situated on the picturesque farm of Tarnside just on the edge of Farlam. The farm is overlooking the Tarn and both cottages have super views across the farmland. The are is very unspoilt and as yet quiet and undisturbed by too many tourists, although the tarn attracts country lovers all year round.Walking is a joy around the area and visitors can climb the local fells to get a glimpse of the Black Grouse. The R S P B has a Reserve just a few miles away.

Carlisle is the Border City and has a lot to offer the tourist. The Tullie House Museum is a modern building with numerous interesting things to see, Hadrian left a large legacy !! Plenty of shops and places to eat. cinemas, swimming pool and Bowling Alley.

"Wonderful Location."

Absolutely perfect is the only way to describe our stay. After an idyllic week we really didn't want to leave. The owners, Maurice and Anne were so friendly we felt as though we'd knon them for years
. The situation looking over Talkin Tarn and the surrounding countryside is utterly beautiful.the bird life superb, the free range eggs delicious and to cap it all we had the joy of watching the race horses out training or in their nearby boxes.
The lodge itself had everything one might need for a comfortable stay: well equipped (with bonus of a dishwasher), comfortable bed with quality bed linen and excellent shower.
We would have liked to enjoy the wood burning stove but the weather was too hot!
I haven't enough superlatives to describe our stay at Tarnside Lodge.
Thank you Maurice and Anne.

Thank you for your great review ,we hope you will come and stay at Tarnside again.

I just love all this area... Found it by chance, the lodge. Went with a friend and doggies...
Words cannot express how much I loved this place, the owners are lovely, the staff oh! and the horses are lovely too. You must go,.

Kiddies, adults dogs, will love the lodge, area, peace, tranquility, its BLISS...

There are so many other places to visit too..

Do try it out, as I found it hard at times to found such a warm and friendly place to stay and be comfy and have some chilling out time...

This guest obviously appreciated all we do at Tarnside.
