The Midi-Pyrenees region

The Lot is a beautiful region of France for those who want to appreciate the beauty of the South West and yet avoid the tourist crowds in the neighbouring Dordogne.

There are many lovely walks in the region and excellent opportunities for water-sports on the Lot, wine-tasting or for drives to a variety of local bastide towns.

The chateau is 1 mile from the centre of Penne d'Ageanais, a beautiful medieval hilltop town where Richard the Lionheart once had a castle (the remains of which can still be seen). The town is home to a number of artisans making jewellery, glassware, leatherware and clothing and has a some excellent restaurants.

A short drive away are an array of beautiful medieval bastides such as Tournon d'Agenais, Pujols and Monflanquin.

"An idyllic place to stay."

This is a stunning house in an amazing setting. The house has been beautifully renovated with great style and flair. All the bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing! There is a large and well equipped kitchen and the dining room down in the cellar, with an open fireplace, is a wonderfully atmospheric place to dine. It is very well equipped with everything one needs for a holiday.

The grounds are extensive and beautifully kept. There are plenty of places to sit and relax and the swimming pool is a real bonus.

There are some very good restaurants nearby and many interesting places to visit.

"Fabulous property"

This is a beautiful property with masses of room. It is tastefully decorated and furnished. It's location is well away from the main road so the extensive grounds are very peaceful.
We found plenty of good quality restaurants in the local area and many interesting places to visit.
