There is 'Mulino Grande' with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, dining area, & living room. This house sleeps 8.
Then, on the same site but on the other side of the gardens are 'Piccolo Mulino' and 'Bambini'. These two cottage apartments are built into the old aquaduct carrying water to the mill & are cute options for couples /small families, both with privacy & their own alfresco dining space .
Bambini is a one bedroom, 1 shower room property with living/kitchen/diner, sleeping 2 plus 2.
Piccolo Mulino is a studio type apartment with an open plan living/kitchen/diner which has a good quality large double sofa bed. There is a ladder style staircase leading to a mezzanine area with 2 single beds too. Shower room.
The gardens really are the piece di resistance here, with lots of different places to relax in peace or be together!
There is a furnished picnic & BBQ area in the woodland, a wonderful relaxing and dining terrace with amazing views at Bambini, and a terrace and outdoor eating area for all to eat together outside Casa Grande.
There a grassed areas, a large hammock, various BBQ spots, ping pong area and also a covered pergola in case it rains with dining and relaxing furniture.
There is a large6M x 12M plus Roman steps private gated pool, surrounded by an ample sunbathing area and quality sunbeds.
The old stone aqueduct, which once brought water to the mill to drive the millstones below, runs behind the site & the millstones of the old mill still work today are& used to obtain fine chestnut flour & corn flour; you can see the chestnuts being ground, as they were in days gone by.

NB - IMPORTANT If there are up to 8 guests then you will hire the main house only with the other 2 houses closed off for privacy. If there are 10 guests then you will have the main house & 1 apartment with the other closed for privacy. So, there is always full privacy but the price changes automatically depending on the number of guests. If you wish to book & use all 3 houses but with just 8 guests please ask for quote.
AREA:
There is lots of space for exploring, walking & relaxing, in pure peace, with just the sound of the stream gurgling .
Set high in the hills, overlooking countryside, & a mediaeval village below, with the mountains as a backdrop, this really is a heavenly location!
Whilst set in the depths of the countryside, amongst beech woods & chestnut trees, the site is located within walking distance of a good restaurant and basic shop (you need to ring the bell !).
There is a selection of good restaurants within a 15 min drive too with more thereafter. The drive to the supermarket/hypermarket is less than half hour in both North and South of the valley.
If you can tear yourselves away from this little piece of paradise some distances for trips out are below:
Pisa - 1 hr 15 mins - visit the famous leaning tower and more besides.
Florence - just under 2 hours - great day out when it is not too hot. Visit the Uffizzi, Ponte Vecchio, Michelangelo's David, meander along the Arno.
Lucca - under an hour . A mediaeval fully walled city, often voted the best city in Italy! Cycle the fully intact walls, relax in the parks, have a cappuccino in many of the large piazzas watching the world go by... The birthplace of Puccini, you can go to an opera recital most evenings, dine in the many restaurants, visit the 99(!) churches, climb the towers or shop til you drop in the shaded mediaeval streets.....
Barga - a beautiful mediaeval town, well known for its arty feel, and its good restaurants. In high season there is often live music in the evenings, and there is an annual jazz festival. Beautiful views abound!
Castelnuovo - local market town 30 mins.
Grotta del Vento - Wind Caves - 45 mins
Parco di Levegliese - country adventure park with torrentismo/canyoning/rock climbing - 45 mins
Spa town of Bagni di lucca - 40 mins
