This is a really spacious house, and all furniture, furnishings, linen and equipment have been provided for comfort and ease of use. Remaining cool in summer and warm in winter, the house is well insulated and has mosquito netting or blinds to most of the windows.
The house is to full wheelchair standard, with wide doors, no corridors, spacious bedrooms and sitting room and wheelchair users are welcome. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who enjoy cooking. A library of DVDs is available and with WI-FI internet access its possible to be on holiday and still keep in touch with family and friends.
From February 2014 uk free to air tv channels are no longer received by satellite, however, we have increased our broadband speed and it is possible to get the main uk channels via the internet and some smart kit that connects to the TV. This is working pretty well so far, and we are improving the equipment so get it as good as it ever was.

The pool has comfortable loungers and sun shade, and is occasionally shared with owners. It is walled and gated for privacy and child safety. The pergola provides shade through the morning until about 4 pm. There is a large private garden to the rear of the house with great views across to El Chorro and El Torcal.
There are loungers on the terrace and a teak dining table and chairs. Access to the property is from the road, and there are no long tracks to negotiate. Depending on the season guests can use fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden.
The owners used to do bed and breakfast in the adjoining house but no longer do this, so guests have sole use of the pool
In 2014 we did major landscaping works giving visitors good access to the top terrace where there are fabulous views across to El Torcal and La Huma, and great for sitting on the swing seat with a glass of something cool watching the sunset over the mountains.
Casa Los Olivos is to the rear of the old farm house.
The pool has access from Casa Los Olivos and whilst guests are using the pool the owners ensure their privacy. Whilst guests are away from the pool the owners may use it on occasion.
The Andalucia region
Just a short drive from the amazing Camiinito del Rey, Casa los Olivos is situated in the grounds of Finca Los Llanos, in the barriada of Los Llanos between El Chorro and the pretty white hill town of Alora. We are is 40 km inland from the beautiful city of Malaga at the head of the Guadalhorce Valley famous for citrus fruit growing, for the warm sunny climate, the Arabic architecture and food, the moorish influences of the old towns, and the gentleness and welcoming nature of the Andalucian people. This a wonderful place to visit and has something for everyone.
Transport via road or rail is excellent, and access to cities, sporting activities and wonderful beaches is really good. Malaga is underrated and the old town is well worth a visit - not only to see the Picasso Museum. The restaurants and shopping are good too! Recommendations for day trips - Cordoba by train, Ronda by train from Alora, malaga by train , Gibraltar by car, Nerja/Maro by car (just over an hour). The national parks of El Torcal, Ardales and Sierra de las Nieves surround us, and make this area so special for those who like to explore by train, car, cycle, motorbike or on foot.
The most spectacular experience has to be the newly reopened Caminito del Rey. It's safe, it's exhilarating and having walked it ourselves we have no hesitation in recommending early booking. Let us know if you are up for it and we can make the booking for you. It's free till all the new roadworks are finished in the autumn of 2015.
Álora is a traditional white hill town with winding streets, and lots of small shops, restaurants and bars. Just 12 km from the town is El Chorro with world class climbing attracting the best climbers. The Ardales Lakes are just a short drive through the national park - wonderful for swimming, hiking, cycling, and gentle walks. This is a beautiful area year round.
Andalucia is renowned for its Ferias, its festivals and holidays. Here we have a feria in July when everyone enjoys the holiday atmosphere, enjoys the dancing and singing with flamenco of course being the star performer. The nearby areas and villages all have their own ferias too, so there is plenty of enjoyment to be had. However, all year round there are excellent restaurants, many having large covered terraces for shady summer eating. In winter we celebrate the day of the kings on the 6th January, and we have holidays for 'Andalucia Day' and various saints days throughout the year. Any excuse really to get together with friends, relax and eat together and generally have fun.
There are great beaches on either side of Malaga. El Palo and Rincon de la Victoria are East of Malaga and totally Spanish. Fantastic beach bars serve local fish dishes. Further up to just east of Nerja and the beaches are forbidden to motor boats, jet skis and cars. Only shuttle buses allowed. Great beach restaurants too.
To the west, Los Boliches has a kid friendly gently sloping beach and is not too far from the BioParc which is truly great for kids.

"Amazing property, everything was fantastic."
This property has everything, even the little extras like table tennis, wifi, t.v with freeview and a kitchen with every appliance or utensils you could want or need! There is a pool with the most comfortable loungers and sheltered area. There are some fantastic restaurants nearby, one that does tapas for 1 euro which are amazing. If you like a quiet location with fantastic views this is the property for you.

We enjoyed a super week in Casa Los Olivos and didn't want to leave. The house is very clean, comfortable and very well equipped with a private garden and a lovely pool. It is such a relaxing place and Helen and Alan are superb hosts - very friendly and helpful but never intrusive. It is a lovely area of Spain with splendid lakes and mountains and thankfully very Spanish and not touristy. Alora is a nice town with everything you could need including an excellent train service into Malaga which proved to be an interesting city to explore. We very much hope that we can make a return holiday in 2012.

"A lovely week in Spain"
My husband and I stayed at Casa Los Olivos back in June. We had such a lovely stay. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for nearby places to visit. The self catering accommodation was very comfortable and spacious but we spent most of the time lying around by the pool and having table tennis championships. Perfect!

"Total Relaxation, Total Comfort, Totally Brilliant"
As parents of two young children the words 'family' and 'holiday' haven't exactly gelled in the past - but this was a really lovely, relaxing 'family holiday'. The accommodation is spotless and very well appointed - we didn't have to lug travel cot or car seats with us as they were provided - and having 2 bathrooms in the cottage was great. The location is beautiful with views of the mountains and the church in Allora. A safe pool (well fenced in and locked when not in use) meant we could let the kids run around the garden without worrying. Enjoyed the outdoor table tennis and the many comfy places around the villa to enjoy that sundown G&T. We went into Allora (which feels Spanish rather than touristy) a couple of times to eat and thanks to the hosts recommendations had excellent meals. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful (and were good at only being around when we needed them!) - they even babysat for us one evening giving us the chance for a grown up night out. The kids loved the wolf sanctury and the beach is a short car ride away. Would recommend - we will be back!

"A home from home in beautiful Andalucia"
Within a short time of arriving at Casa Los Olivos it felt like home. Everything is there, everything works and the house is comfortable without being showy (a bonus when you have young children racing around!)
The owners, Helen and Alan, live in the house next door and are always on hand when needed with local information and recommendations for places to eat and visit.
The highlight is the fabulous pool, great fun for the kids and a tranquil place for an evening swim too.
If you don't want the hustle and bustle of the coast, this is a wonderful base for a family holiday. I recommend it.
