Villa "Pearl of the Sea" is a beautiful villa located in front of the sandy beach with its crystal clear water. This beach extends for miles and miles either to east or west and gives you the possibility to relax, to walk along the shore or just to sunbathe. Nevertheless, there is a wide swimming pool (5,5 m * 11 m + round entrance/ 1,40 m deep) in the property only for you - that can also be heated - where you can swim and have fun whenever you want. During the night you will enjoy also its play of colors. So, do you want to have a sunny and quiet holiday staying all day long at the beach of our clear water? You're just on the right place!!! Do you want to have a swim in the fresh clean water of a cared swimming pool? You have found what suits you!! Whatever you need or want, you can find it here. It's a villa, with a swimming pool and a wide green lawn, 3 bedrooms (1 double; 1 with two bunk beds + a single bed if needed; 1 double + a single bed), a furnished loft, a bathroom with shower, a bathroom, a washroom, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a wide dining-room. All furniture has a modern design. There are two terraces with a stunning view on our sea, which is only 100 meters far. In brief, it's like a little resort where you are on your own and with all your privacy. On the terraces you can taste our best Italian food and drink comfortably Sicilian wine (Alcamo is well-known for it's "Bianco D'Alcamo DOP"). Children are welcome and they will have THE holiday they'll never forget. They can play all around on the green lawn. The property is very comfortable and it is a green spot surrounded by the infinite sea, that's why we call it our "pearl of the sea" (Perla del Mare). On foot (very close, because it's the last house at the end of the road) you can reach the sandy beach with it's kilometers/miles long shore where you can have your walks. On the swimming pool side of the villa there is also a little woods and you can breath iodine air mixed with a fragrance of eucalyptus. Depending on your mood you can find what you want. For your own security - but you can also ask us to switch the system off, if you prefer - some areas of the outside of the villa are equipped with a CCTV video surveillance system, visible from the inside TV screen. Car is advised if you want to go around and visit also places related to art, history, natural reserves or have a picnic on our Monte Bonifato (7 km about far). What is there better than going around in our beautiful Sicily and then coming back "home" and have a swim in the sea or in the swimming pool? And what if you decide to have a bath also in the night in our color-lighted swimming pool?!? The pool will be cleaned daily even on its ground and the garden cared daily, (it takes almost two and half hours altogether). Two times a week there is mowing of the lawn included. The next convenient supermarket is at almost 4 km, even if there are other little grocery shops at almost 1 km of distance. You can find hot croissant in the morning and restaurant at midday at the Lido on the beach that is only 100 m far (open from mid-June to mid-September). The next nearest restaurants are at 1,5 - 2 km. The beach is really beautiful with its crystal-clear water.

You go just a few minutes on foot and you can stay directly on the beach of our Mediterranean Sea. But really few minutes: it's only 100 meters far. But if you prefer, when the sun is setting, you can admire the most beautiful sunsets directly from the balcony. If you like, there are many possibilities of enjoying sea life. Hire boats, have short day cruises and whatever you want. If you think you might need something, just ask and we are at your disposal to give you the right tips and help you.

The Sicily region

Sicily is an isle in the middle of the Meditarrenean Sea. You can have here a lot of sun and visit stunning places, sea and mountain in contrast, art and monuments and natural reserves.

Alcamo

Alcamo is the only town in which you can admire both our mountains and the sea. The part near to the sea with its beautiful and long sandbeach is called Alcamo Marina. Within 6 km you arrive to the town of Alcamo that sits on top of a hill from where you can reach the highest point in the mountains. Alcamo is best known for its typical white wine called "Bianco Alcamo DOP". Alcamo is rich in art and history: the main square named after the famous poet Ciullo Alcamo (the first poet who wrote his "contrast" in Italian vernacular). You can visit many of the churches with famous paintings and sculptures. But above all you can enjoy the Sun, there are many possibilities for relaxation. Swimming, horseback riding, boat, jogging. Visits to tourist places nearby and accessible where you can admire history, art and nature. For example: ancient temple of Segesta; the Segestan Thermae; both natural caves in the mountains and the sea; Scopello; San Vito lo Capo etc. etc. Contact us and you will see that the possibilities are really many!

"Great villa and ideal for a beach holiday."

We visited this villa in june 2013 with my parents and our 2 boys aged 2 and 3 years old.

The villa really is great and the views from the baloney are beautiful. The pool is lovely and on the whole you can not falt the facilties.

The villa owners, (sonja in particular) were however a little over bearing and we felt they needed to take a step back from the villa as they were clearly very fond of the place. Their intentions were good but we felt a little overwhelmed by the 2 hour debrief about how the villa worked which included light switches on and off, doors opening and closing them, shutters etc... I feel this information could have been communicated in an information pack and after a long day traveling with young children an information pack to read at our leisure would have been more suitable.

When we have rented villas in the past it has always felt like we had hired a house which was ours for the week, this villa was more like being a guest in someone else's home, we felt constantly on edge about breaking anything and we also had the constant feeling of being watched due to the security cameras which were everywhere.

We also took up the offer of a private chef and maid service which turn out to be sonja coming to clean and sonja coming to assist with cooking. This reinforced the feeling of being a guest in her home. We also felt that although she spoke good English there was a lack of understanding of British culture.

As I said earlier this villa is great but it is not a self-catering villa where you pick up the keys, let yourself in and then leave at the end of the week. There is a bigger owner presence which might or might not be what you desire.

I thank you for the top rate you gave to the villa and I'm sure the villa deserves it.
We thank you about the suggestion of an information pack that would have been easier to read. At first we thought that a small show on how to open doors could help better bear in mind how to do it, but we will provide for it as soon as possible. We think, however, that we spent more time in the welcome surprise (you know what I mean, but it should be a nice surprise also for future guests, so we can't explain) than in the debrief.
As regards me as chef-assistant, I regret that what had to be a gift for you turned out to be an inconvenience. If I hadn't asked long before your arrival and if you hadn't answered: ”of course we do not mind for you to be there!” I wouldn't have come at all. We assure that we made all our efforts to make you feel at ease, let you have a great dinner and to be as invisible as possible that night.
I thank you for your comment about my English and about my possible lack of understanding of British culture. But we are Italian in Italy and – nevertheless - we make much efforts in trying to understand of British, German, French, Russian and any culture of the guests may arrive. We hope, as well, that our guests come to Italy because they love Italy, its culture and the beautiful places we have. Your review is very precious to us and we'll take good care of your advices.
We are sure that you spent a wonderful holiday and that you had a great time.
