“Just the Right Size!” It is so hard to find a house that is not incredibly over-sized, so I was glad to finally find something that was the right size and the right price! This beach house was recently constructed and all new appliances. Great details and very comfortable. My family, friends and I felt at home while staying there! I have already recommended this house to friends and definitely want to return. It truly felt like a home away from home and absolutely the best beach house I have ever stayed at!

“Pura Vida!” I absolutely loved this place. Its was such a convenient location and perfect for me. Restaurants and business center on the corners with in 1, 2 minute walking distance, beach was less than 5 and the main strip about 7. The neighbors are all super nice. I will miss everything about my trip and can't wait to return in the future.

Montezuma house

“The Best Vacation House - it's a keeper!” My husband and I had the month of February to luxuriate in Los Cedros, Costa Rica. Located halfway between Montezuma and Cabuya, it meant easy access to both charming towns. And it boasted a 5 minute walk to the most pristine beach for sunning, swimming and walking, that you could ever dream of. We stayed in a beautiful house designed by an architect for Costa Rican style living. Open porches with cool breezes made our stay there feel as though we were connected to nature while being protected from too much sun exposure! All the rooms had lots of ventilation and were spacious and comfortable. The location of the house is in a lush garden setting, surrounded my native plants, flowers, fruit trees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The local critters who cruised nearby daily added to the charm and ambiance: monkeys, agoutis, some cute lizards, and lots of tropical birds. We were welcomed by our hostess and host, Donna and Tito, who we quickly appreciated as the most caring and accommodating people we could have wished to meet. We loved every minute of our stay here, and know that we have made been treated to an experience that we will always remember!

“A Bucket List Come True” Casa Tortuga was everything and more. Our group from Texas were blown away and kept thanking me for finding this beautiful villa and sharing this wonderful experience with them. Maria is your shining star. She is an incredible cook. The food and table presentation for every meal was outstanding. Everything was fresh and mouth watering delicious. Her assistants were very sweet and with the three of them, they kept Casa Tortuga in top shape. The grounds were just beautiful. They were well maintained and kept fresh for a new day of fun in the sun. Our group enjoyed all the wonderful tours that were available for us, snorkeling, fishing and the zip lining tours. The whole week was an incredible experience and one that none of us will ever forget. We all want to come back! A big Texas thank you for a trip of a lifetime.

Central America holidays

Come visit this part of the world to experience ancient Mayan culture in Belize, world-class scuba diving amongst reefs and shipwrecks in Honduras, and unique culinary traditions everywhere that are neither North nor South American, but combine the best of both. More than anything else, come to Central America for exposure to spectacular natural beauty that you won't find anywhere else in the world. The coral reefs and rainforest ecosystems here are ancient and breathtaking, and the experience offered by some of the waterfalls and volcanoes of Central American National Parks will leave you with amazing memories and photographs. Visit just one of the nations of Central America or plan a longer trip and experience all of them.

Here are a few suggestions of things to see and do:

  • Panama: See the Panama Canal. In operation since 1914, its gravity powered locks and controlled waterways are considered one of the great wonders of the world.
  • Guatemala: Come to Guatemala City and see a legendary ballet performance at the Centro Cultural Miguel Angel Asturias National Theatre.
  • Belize: Go cave tubing. Take an inner tube into the spectacular caves of Belize to experience the native plants and animals of the ecosystem, geological formations, and ancient Mayan history.
  • Costa Rica: Take a guided trek through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve in Costa Rica. Tour the jungle canopy and see unforgettable species of butterflies, reptiles, and hummingbirds.
  • Nicaragua: Visit the ChocoMuseo in Granada and tour the factory and farm to learn about how chocolate is made.

No matter where you go on your visit to Central America, you'll need a place to stay. And it can be easier to find a holiday rental here than you might think, even close to remote forested areas, on isolated islands or near secluded villages. If you want to experience the urban heart of Panama City or Granada, you'll have no trouble finding a stylish apartment or condo rental close to the colourful market hubs, world-class restaurants and shopping districts, or the hottest night spots.

Breakfast with Toucans and Monkeys (Sarapiqui)
Tucán House - Unique

The house is so cool. It’s in the jungle with fresh fruit trees, has all kinds of wildlife (many birds), local places to swim in a couple different rivers, Poas Volcano, and a ton of waterfalls in the area. It is a very local experience as Gloria can arrange home cooked meals by neighbors, get milk and cheese next door, and even moonshine down the street see more
El Remanso - Green Parrot Studio Apartment, 28 steps to the beach
Perfect place to relax and watch the birds fly by

Where to start? Beautiful sunsets, clean and comfy room, wildlife galore, amenities that exceeded our needs, the entire beach to ourselves, warm water even in February and fabulous hosts. Lee and Jennifer were gracious, knowledgeable and helpful. Each morning started with coffee on our secluded lanai, watching and listening to the birds, while lazy ocean waves invited us to the water. Can't wait to visit El Romanso again during the whale season!see more
Stunning Cathedral Ceiling Bamboo House on Coffee Farm near Poas Volcano
Exceeded expectations in every way

This place was amazing. The bamboo house is absolutely beautiful, and has everything you need. The property is surrounded by beautiful mountains, all sort of flora and the coffee plants. The highlight of the property is Jose, the caretaker. He is extremely accommodating and friendly, and would be happy to give you a tour of the plantation. The only issue is the road to the house, which is extremely rocky and full of holes. But with any decent car it’s manageable. Overall an amazing placesee more

Above and Beyond

Stayed here for 2 days, it was nice, chill and quiet. Staff was very helpful. The room was clean and nicely put together. I ordered food: delivery wasn't offered due to a hurricane power outage - so staff got on a bus to pick it up for me. Overall very nice and helpful people. My experience here was very relaxing and memorable. Thank you.see more
Perfect for Families, Surfers and Nature-Lovers!!
After a Monthlong Stay, Lots to Tell

My family has just come off 30+ days at Casa K and it was certainly an experience! The house itself was excellent, solid, spacious and comfortable with lots of good sleep spaces. We had varying numbers at the house, from two to three to seven at one point, and we had no trouble fitting us all. The balcony overlooking the water—the view you see in the main pic—is where we spent most of our time. The present view looks pretty different though, as the greenery in the front mostly obscures the ocean. But it certainly doesn't obscure the roar heard from the water. More on that in a sec. There was enough room on the deck for yoga for two or three, so it was pretty big. The ceiling fans throughout the home kept the house cool throughout the day. But there was also A/C if it got a little stuffy. The wifi was OK too. Not fast, but not agonizing either. We needed it to be serviceable in order to work. Those amenities made it OK to be inside if the weather was poor, which it was like half the time. Plus, if anything went wrong, the property management team was on it quickly, which we were grateful for. Now for some of the other things we discovered about the house, its location, and Bocas del Toro in general. The house is great if you're into surfing. I mean really great. The break in front of the house is desirable for the many folks who do that kind of thing. We aren't surfers, so we honestly couldn't get in the water, which was right in front of the house. We couldn't get in the water at the gorgeous beach 15 minutes to the north of us either, Bluff, because of the intense break and deadly rip current. In fact, if you are looking for a stretch of nice sandy beach to relax and swim, well, you basically have to travel. We were disappointed that we didn't have easier access at the house to actual swimmable beaches. This is not our host's fault of course. We just didn't ask the right questions. Also, getting back and forth to the house from town is not easy. We rented e-bikes the whole month and it was fine, but the road is horrendous. And I don't use that word lightly. The entire road around one side of Isla Colon, where the house is, is basically sand, an extension of the beach. If you don't rent a bike, you can take the bus or a cab, which we also did, but the cabs add up because they charge by the person not the trip. Again, just an observation. Finally, and maybe this is just me because my family didn't really seem to be impacted by it, but the sound of the surf is crazy loud. It's not the quaint noise of the occasional wave. It's a crashing, explosive sound that finds its way right through the screens under the eaves of the roof. The waves are consistently 6-10 feet, all day and all night, so there is no quiet. If you're looking for pure peace and quiet, bring earplugs. Again, we didn't know this going in and my family was not as bothered, but I was. Bocas del Toro is a pretty cool place. It's not pristine or particularly accessible, or cheap for that matter. It took us at least a week to get our bearings, to meet people, to discover its little secrets and begin to really enjoy ourselves. Once we learned enough, once we figured it all out, we were fine. We loved the neighborhood places, the bars and restaurants and the people that make this part of the world truly unique. Glad we booked Casa K for as long as we did, or else we wouldn't have given us time to truly discover it.see more
