“Amazing, unique place to stay for those that love the outdoors alongside comforts of a modern home” My extended family of 8 stayed at the Bird House in Dec 2014 for six days. Our group consisted of my wife and I, our 2 children (ages 8 & 11), and our 4 parents. The house is a wonderful, unique experience for those looking for something very different from regular hotels. There is plenty of space, the full amenities of home (including very reliable wifi), and amazing decorations that had my wife (a graphic designer) buzzing with ideas. You truly can see the tops of ships on the canal from the deck and there really are birds everywhere. We didn’t catch sight of any monkeys around the property, but there were plenty along pipeline road (5 minute drive away), and there are agoutis and coatis hanging out in the park across the street. Look at the pictures on the site closely to understand how the house is laid out - the exterior walls on the main floors are giant, slatted, sliding panels with screens to keep the bugs out. This means the house feels almost more outdoors than indoors. Our group loved it, and we never felt like our privacy was impinged upon since there is a fair amount of distance to the neighbors, but if you are not an outdoors lover it may feel strange to you to have all the noises from the world around you in your living space. Obviously, there is also no air conditioning, but numerous fans throughout the house keep it quite pleasant. Chimene, the owner, is the perfect “remote host.” She helped us extensively with planning activities prior to our stay in Gamboa and also gave us advice for things to do in other parts of Panama. She had tremendous patience with me as I pinged her with loads of emails. Later in our trip we ended up staying at her treetop “beach platforms” in Rio Mar as well which was a whole other type of cool experience.

“Peaceful beautiful home with wonderful views” Hi Serge, Thank you for a wonder stay at your home in Atenas! My memories of sitting on the balconey enjoying the beautiful panoramic views with stay with me forever. What a great palce to call home for our Costa Rican Adventure. It was very peaceful, secure, and very comfortable. We loved the month we spent at your home. It was very convenient to get to the new highway with just short jaunts to San Jose the airport and to the Pacific beaches. We really enjoyed staying in Atenas area with the most fantastic weather and the safe convenient shops and restaurants. I can't wait to return and I will definitely return to your place. “Perfect Panama Experience” For our family spending Christmas together in Panama Casa de K was an absolutely delightful place to relax and explore - clean, quiet, comfortable, while still feeling like we on a jungle adventure. While drinking coffee we watched gorgeous tropical birds from the upstairs veranda, identifying dozens of new species with the help of the Birds of Panama book which the owner provided. We strolled the beach right in front of Casa de K, collecting shells, watching the surf break and spotting monkeys swinging by in the trees. We cooked meals and tried local produce at least once a day in the very nice kitchen. Twice we walked into town, and several other times we took a taxi, and Bocas Town is delightful; good restaurants, quaint shops and small enough to explore on foot. One Bocas experience which I would highly recommend is chartering a boat for a tour around the island. Our family spent a delightful day with a Bocas native in his boat; including a chance to wade and see starfish on an isolated beach, a stop at a remote beachfront cantina for lunch and drinks, and a trip out to some dramatic rocky islands. Our family was all smiles after a week at Casa de K.

“Wonderful tropical Holiday.” We (family of 6) had a wonderful time staying at villa del cielo. After arriving at LIR it was a short 15 minute drive to the house. The location of the house to there airport is a big plus. Myra, the property manager, met us at the house when we arrived to give us a tour of the property. She is very knowledgeable of the area and was helpful in us getting our bearings. She mentioned all the recent upgrades that the new owner has done in the past year not to mention the beautiful local art collection. We especially enjoyed the outdoor living space with bbq and terraces with views of the ocean. The plunge pool was quite refreshing after a walk back from the beach. Hermosa is very family friendly, clean and safe. We saw lots of monkeys. Tours were close by. The zip we went on was very memorable.
