“If I could give 6 stars I would!” We could not fault this villa, the owners had thought of everything we could possibly need and were extremely helpful. The villa is comprehensively equipped to a high standard and very roomy. There were only 3 of us however 3 good sized double rooms and plenty of space generally make it comfortable for six easily. Locally Gordon and Chrissy manage the villa for the owners and they were great. On arrival we were provided with a welcome pack including bread, butter, jam, water, beer and wine which was great as we didn't need to rush out to the shops straight away. They met us at the airport, took us to the villa, arranged car rental for us at a good price and gave us recommendations for places to eat so there was very little that we had to think about which made it very relaxing straight away. The pool is a good size and we used it every day to cool down and relax - Gordon keeps it clean with daily visits in the morning. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and Chrissy made sure it was well kitted out with more than enough towels for us all including beach towels. In terms of the location, its in a beautiful location in the middle of an olive grove, a very quiet setting away from the road with hardly any passing traffic - the only thing that disturbed our sleep occasionally was local dogs barking in the night which is pretty common in Greece. We didn't want to close the windows so put up with that. There is a small bakery at the end of the lane which we used every day. The nearest Taverna is about 15 - 20 mins walk along the main road which was fine for us as it meant we had peace and quiet. If you happen to want night life and a choice of places to eat, the resort of Laganas (popular with young people) is a short drive away however we avoided that apart from to visit the car rental firm. Lots of food shops a short drive away, many lovely sandy beaches and spectacular scenery close by. We only explored the south of the island and would love to return to check out the north as well. We have rented through Holiday Rentals many times and this villa is by far the best we have stayed in - we particularly loved the fact that we could connect our phones to the music systems and listen to our favourite tracks while cooking and eating our evening meals. Thank you so much David, Gordon and Chrissy for our lovely holiday and being so incredibly helpful.
Known as 'Zante' by most, Zakynthos is a beautiful Greek island located in the Ionian Sea. Most know it as a party island, but it's really so much more!
Book your holiday rental in Zakynthos today and find out exactly what we mean.
Greek mythology says the island was named after Zakynthos, son of Dardanus the Arcadian chief. There are still elements of ancient Grecian culture dotted around the island – see what you can discover during your stay.
Whether you're here for the history, the parties, or the beaches, make sure you try some of the local food. Unlike many other Greek islands, it mainly centres around meat and poultry as the island is very agricultural. Try Sofigadoura – this lamb dish is one of our favourites!
What to Do
For a bit of culture, visit Agios Dionysios Church. The intricate murals and illustrious golden features will take your breath away. It's the perfect spot for a moment of quiet contemplation.
For a family fun day out, head to Tsilivi Waterpark. There are slides, lazy rivers and more to enjoy, so it’s a great way to cool off!

Amboula Beach Apartment
Rabbits Appartment Amboula Beach
The appartment had everything needed for a relaxing, stress free holiday. Had my morning cuppa on the balcony overlooking the perfectly blue ionian sea, bliss. The queen size bed was so comfy, and my daughter slept like a log on the day bed. Fresh towels, bedding and housekeeping provided daily if required. The air conditioning was great. 2 minute walk to supermarket, bus-stop, beach and tavernas. Tenia the manager was always attentive to our needs. …
Gorgeous villa in lovely family oriented resort
We've just returned from a week at this beautiful villa which is in a fantastic location; only a short walk to the beach with the resort centre only a few minutes in the other direction. Unlike other villas we've stayed in, it's lovely and private so we didn't need to keep shouting at the kids to keep the noise down.
The facilities are great; although not huge, the pool's fine for a quick dip, the WiFi works a treat (not that I cared but the kids didn't moan once) and the air con was a godsend. There's only one bathroom (there is a separate toilet as well) but that wasn't a problem and there were 6 of us.
As the villa is owned by the people who run the Plaza Pallas Hotel (50 metres up the road), there was a daily maid service which was fantastic. Beds were made and towels were changed every day so you got the benefit of a hotel with the privacy of a villa. The reception staff at the hotel were on hand to answer any questions and book any taxis we needed. The owner was very responsive and made sure that everything was up to standard.
Overall I was very impressed and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the villa to anyone considering a holiday in Tsilivi. …
Peaceful villa with amazing sunset views
Stunning house with amazing views.
This was our third visit to this house and yet again it surpassed all expectations. Completely unspoilt with a beautiful view. The owners have taken care to ensure that everything needed for a relaxing holiday was available. Their knowledge of the island means that all the local tavernas and beaches are pointed out but it’s your choice to do whatever you want. The house is impeccably presented and really has to be seen to be believed. Would recommend the beach at Agios Nikolaias for an easy swim with our kids in clear turquoise water and a fantastic lunch at the taverna on the beach. …
Spiti Pefko- The Pine House, Ionian stone cottage surrounded by natural garden,
Our second visit and lovely as ever!!
Having spent a magical honeymoon here a few years ago we decided a return visit was long overdue, but this time with our lively five year old in tow. Spiti Pevko was as lovely as we remembered but with additional enhancing tweaks here and there. The space and layout to the property is great, lots of room to disappear for five mins peace and leave the boys to go off exploring the grounds or swing in the hammocks. Stunning views to sit with a morning coffee or evening wine and just be. This holiday we did less exploring and spent most of our time at the beach by the port (15min drive), which was perfect – beautiful clear warm water for a swim or snorkel, friendly locals, fab taverna for lunch or dinner. In fact most of what we wanted was in the port, we were completely spoilt with good food there! The property is peaceful, comfortable, clean and beautifully finished. We would Highly Recommend and thank you for another fantastic holiday! …
