“A little piece of paradise tucked away in the undulating countryside of the Averyron..” We stayed at Le Laurier for a couple of weeks and could have remained there all summer. The gite has been decorated by the owners Kathryn and John with tender love and care and you can tell as soon as you arrive that they are considerate and kind hosts with style. Kathryn also cooks like a dream so you are in for rare treat if you have dinner there. And sitting outside the gite in the warmth of the evening having a glass of wine is a fond memory.
There is a small village nearby where you could buy the most delicious croissant and have an expresso (or drink) in the square and there are plenty of places to visit - Figeac is half an hour away and Villefranche de Rouergue the same - both lovely towns with great market days... If I could, I would stay all year. The weather in November and December can be stunning (this is not my first visit) and the gite is stocked with plenty of dvds and books to keep you occupied. Thank you Kathryn and John for such memorable stay. Will be back soon.
We stayed at Le Laurier in July 2012 and have rebooked for this year. It's a very relaxing place to stay with lots of interesting places to visit within an easy drive. The barn is extremely comfortable, I particularly remember the comfy kingsize bed with fresh, lavender scented linen, squishy sofas, there is a huge range of DVDs and books to chose from. The pretty garden was overflowing with herbs and we got hooked on fresh mint tea! The owners who live on site, with their dog, were extremely helpful and Kathryn is a very good cook. We ate in one evening and had a picnic hamper - definitely recommended! …
The House of Leaping Mounine. Animals welcome
My partner and I have stayed at this gite six times I think since 2006 . We love the isolation from others yet it is near to amenities. We still have not run out of places to see and visit..castles, walks etc.
The owner Rose is nearby and very helpful. …
