“Magnificent experience!!” My wife and I decided to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Provence, a place we had never before visited. We rented this property, owned by the Mack family. Jeannine, a retired teacher, and Christian, a retired antiquities dealer, live in the main house and are the most gracious, warm and friendly hosts we have encountered in any country we have visited, including our own, the United States. Though we were of course on our own, they went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going. On one day, our anniversary, we had the misfortune of getting into a minor car accident. We called ahead to them asking that they cancel our local dinner reservation. Jeannine took care of it but when we got back, the most unexpected thing happened. She and Christian had a full meal with a carafe of wine set up on a table outside and they joined us, having waited themselves to eat. It was the best meal we had out of all the terrific restaurants we went to. The cottage itself is immaculate, comfortable and perfect for two people. The grounds in this gated property are stunning, with olive and lemon trees amidst a yard that has a vegetable garden and of course, the omnipresent Provencal lavender. The local area is full of history, including the oldest working monastery in France and in fact, all of Europe (L'Abbeye du Senanque), the Lavender Museum (right up the road), and further out, the Palais du Pape in avignon. Outside of avignon you must visit the Bratt family wine museum and winery. The tour there by Patrick is a must. All in all, we hope to return to Provence some day and stay at the same cottage. Jeannine & Christian, of course, have an open invitation to come to the us to stay with us if they ever wish to do so. A most memorable experience!!!

“We really like this place!” We first stayed here in summer 2011, for a week. We went back in 2012 for a week, we had enjoyed it so much. We tried booking it for two weeks this summer but they couldn't take us: becoming too popular as a result of people rebooking for the next year before they leave and, possibly, because of rave (but honest) reviews like this one! The gite is very comfortable. And clean! It is a very easy place to feel relaxed and at home. Eating outside on the shaded terrace, gaily surfing the net via the splendid wifi, lazing in the shade by the pool, swimming in the deliciously cool, but not cold, salt water pool, having someone other than ourselves to chat to for half an hour or so over aperitifs, sleeping like a log in the peace and quiet: these are all things we really enjoy. David and Karen are very welcoming and friendly. If your gite needs something that's not provided just ask and they'll do their best to supply it- though quite what you might be having to ask for I'm not sure as they have the place very well equipped. It's great also to have the facility for washing/drying/ironing clothes. St. Saturnin is a lovely wee village in its own right and is also well situated for visiting any number of other villages in the Luberon. We wholeheartedly recommend this gite as a great place to stay.
