Chardon Bleu - Spacious 12-14p ski chalet with stunning views
This was the perfect chalet for our group and can thoroughly recommend it!
We picked Vallandry and the Chardon Bleu chalet as a random choice. The chalet matched our needs for our group size and Vallandry offered access to all of Les Arcs and La Plagne ski regions.
Having just returned, I am pleased to say what a wonderful choice we made. The Chardon Bleu is a lovely chalet with ample room for all of us. The photos do it justice (but do not capture the lovely view off the balcony).
The chalet is just off the main (quiet) road through Vallandry, down a steep-ish slope (ok for 4x4's to get down and park when not covered in snow/ice). Might be tricky getting down there in mid-winter with snow all over it, but we were ok as it was just gravel whilst we were there.
The chalet was really clean and had all the amenities we needed.
The 5 children had their own large bedroom upstairs which was great, whilst the other bedrooms upstairs and downstairs (1 double and 1 twin both upstairs and downstairs) are of a good size for all the rest of us, with separate bathrooms and toilets.
Nice communal living room was easily big enough for all of us to sit around and play games in on most evenings!
Vallandry is quiet, with a small handful of bars and restaurants and one small supermarket. The Mont Blanc bar, a little higher up the slope, is English-run and provided a good atmosphere, great service, sports tv, live music (some nights) and decent food, for the nights we fancied getting out.
Peisey is just up the road and has more facilities (doctors, pharmacy, more shops) and is where you can get the Valoise cable-car to La Plagne, but we only used that once as Les Arcs had everything we needed.
It was really warm most evenings whilst we were there and we were skiing all day and sitting out on the balcony in shorts and t-shirts some evenings, watching the sun go down. A little piece of paradise for a short while.
PVR were very helpful. We didn't really need to bother them during our stay except to pick up the keys, and return them at the end. They were great answering all my queries leading up to our holiday. …
Apartment No. 1 Les Clarines sleeps 7p and is directly on the piste!
Great apartment with lovely views in terrific location on slopes
Perfect for our family with 4 kids. Being right on the slope above the centre of valllandry was great. No long walks at the start and end of every day with moaning kids in ski boots! Apartment had everything we needed, loved the balcony for apres ski drinks while the dinner was cooking. Fantastic value for money for the resort and location. Will book again. …
Chalet Le Grizzly sleeps 10p and is in the ski in/ski out Bellecote chalet park
Great living space and ski in ski out location, basic bedrooms and bathrooms
The chalet was comfortable and the living area was spacious. The views while sitting at the dining table were stunning and the balcony was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the late afternoon sun. The bedrooms were basic and quite small. The bathrooms were clean and a good size and there was always plenty of hot water. Shower doors rather than curtains would have made a big difference.
The chalet was in a great location for ski in ski out despite the spring conditions! The walk to and from the village was steep, and the supermarket did not have a large choice if you were self catering. The village was very quiet and not a place to go if wanting après ski atmosphere!
The service from PVR was friendly and efficient. …
Chalet Wittenburg, 12p chalet directly on the piste so you can ski to the door!
Full of adventure, brilliant time
We arrived in France during one of the worst episodes of snow fall in years.I was kept upto date by staff and directed to an emergency shelter in Chambery, despite feeling very anxious, we were travellling in a large group and the children of the group had a brilliant time before we travelled on to the chalet. The location of the chalet was perfect, directly on the slope, ideal when skiing with children.Staff were extremely helpful and chalet including its facilities was excellent. We are all hoping to return next year. …
Chalet L'Ecureuil - 10p chalet in Ski in/ski out Chalets de Bellecote Park
Amazing stay with amazing host
We arrived as a group of 10 people - friends and family. Sarah and the rest of the guys at the reception were very helpful, and offered many tips for moving around. Sarah also helped us with booking a restaurant for our evening out, on the host's day off.
The catering service we had was amazing! We stayed at chalet 17 (L'Ecureil), and booked catering through PVR. Our host was Henry, he was a very funny guy, and made amazing dinners!
The chalet was ski-in/ski-out, very cosy and well decorated.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much, and would highly recommend PVR! …
Chateau Doggestein is a charming 8p chalet in the Ski in/Ski out Bellecote Park
Very comfortable chalet right next to the slopes
Two families enjoyed our stay in chalet Doggenstein. The chalet has a very homely feel with good living spaces, nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The chalet also scores highly on our Helpful Hook Index (!) with lots of hooks to hang towels, salopettes, bags etc - a small but oft-overlooked detail! We had hoped to put some of the children in the mezzanine bedroom but, although it would have been perfectly safe to do so, it was very open (noise-wise) to the sitting area so would not have been restful for either party.
We have stayed in PVR chalets before - admin and check in are very good and the bread and croissant service an excellent idea. The local pizzeria (Le Refuge) is excellent and we also had a nice couple of meals at !a Vache in Peisey.
All in all, a very good chalet and we would definitely stay there again. …
