“Old Mammoth Charm” My family and I booked a last minute trip to Mammoth. The owner was very easy going and made the last minute rrip quite easy. We only needed two rooms, but the 2 rooms and a loft gave us lots of room to play in, which of course the kids loved. Kitchen had everything we needed. My husband loved the wood burning stove which came with lots of wood and kindling and kept the unit nice and cozy for eveybody. Big screen tvs were a bonus, as well as the game cabinet. It snowed while we were there and the boys loved being able to play just outside the door in the new fallen snow. At first I hesitated because I wanted a ski on/ski off location to make it easier to deal with the kids. However, after staying at the unit, I would do so again. And it is big enough to even invite friends with kids to join us. The drive to any of the lodges is quite short. We drove each day to Main Lodge (the furthest lodge away) and it was not a problem at all.

“Beautiful house in a lovely, quaint town” We love Twain Harte and have been coming here for years, but this is the first time we've rented a house. We're so glad we found The Roost! It's beautifully updated with loads of charming touches, and so, so comfortable. The specious deck was amazing, the furnishings and beds were cozy and inviting, and our kids were mad about the audrey Hepburn room and adjoining game room. The Roost has everything a family could want: plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, great location within easy walking distance of town, and privileges at Twain Harte Lake. We spent a lot of time at the lake! Tammy is an accommodating and gracious hostess, and her home is beautiful and comfortable. We highly recommend it, and only wish we could have stayed longer!

“Wonderful stay!” We had such a wonderful stay. After hiking all day in Yosemite it was nice to have a place to be able to relax and enjoy the evening out on the deck. The caboose was very nice and enjoyed all the amenities. Staying in the caboose was one of the highlights of our vacation! Thank you!

“Artycottage is incredibly unique and beautiful inside and out.” Artycottage is nearly unbelievable -- a lovingly and exquisitely handcrafted cottage that you might dream about owning. It's the kind of place that truly deserves the word "awesome" attached to it. When you walk in, "wow" is all you can say. Furniture, fabrics, pillows, quilts, and even shampoo have been designed and made by Tom and Margaret. It's elegant and homey all at once. It's also roomy and modern and eco savvy. There seems to be another perfect detail every time you turn your head. I could have stayed there without ever venturing out. It's the most memorable place I have ever stayed.

“A wonderful escape :)” This charming Carriage House is a must for those who want to be close to the lake, downtown and all the action but desire a tranquil place of their own. I have stayed in a hotel/motel many times in Lakeport. This visit surpassed all others. The Carriage House is immaculate, tastefully decorated and has all the ammenities of a home away from home. The history of the Carriage House and the adjacent Keeling Home is very interesting. I enjoyed the quality of the home, hospitality of the owners and the outdoor patio area which is secluded and a great spot to BBQ and enjoy friends or just sit and relax. I would like to return with friends. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms allows you to enjoy company and privacy as well.Give it a try. Why pass up a chance to stay here? I don't think you will be disappointed.

“Peaceful and Private Setting with Spectacular Setting” My family stayed at Karla's rental unit in Snowcreek for a week in August (2018) before sending our twins off to college. We were hoping to have a quiet getaway that would serve as a restful base for day trips into the Eastern Sierras. This lovely rental unit served that purpose and more. It is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils and appliances; living room, bedrooms, and the loft are equipped with comfortable beds; the living area has a very comfortable leather sectional sofa, and there are high-quality, big-screen televisions in the living room and bedrooms. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony (mountain views), and our dog loved running through the beautiful common areas outside. Our family was amazed at the care and attention given to landscaping (everything was so green), yet we felt like we were in the middle of a high sierra forest. Karla (our host) was attentive and handled everything efficiently. Our family has traveled extensively (with our dog), and Karla's unit in Snowcreek ranks near the very top of our list for comfort, privacy, and beauty. Highly recommend!

“Great place to rest” What a beautiful, comfortable, serene, and thoughtful place. Terry is amazing, and her space is wonderful. We had a great stay, made better by Terry's resources and fine company. There's probably not a more satisfying and personable bed to be had away from home in the East Bay.
