“Perfect!” This was our second visit to La Retraite with friends, family and dogs, the house is so well equipped it suits everyone. The pool area and garden is beautiful with varied seating areas, the owners really have thought of everything. The house is in a quiet location but very easy to get to local amenities, we cycled to Mauze to the local Boulangerie and Supermarket, our daughter was a bit more adventurous and cycled to Surgeres. We also visited Il de Re with fabulous beaches and St Martin which is a lovely place to sit and have a meal or just a coffee. We would also recommend a visit to Coulon with its Canals and boat trips. La Retraite is a great place for a holiday, Alan is extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble, he even books the vets appointment before the journey home and we will definitely visit again.
