“A wonderful family experience in one of the most friendly and beautiful places in the world” We just got back from our weekend stay at Apartment Torkar and I wanted to hurry to right this review so others could see it and choose this remarkable place for their vacation. I traveled there with my husband, our daughters, and our dog over the long holiday weekend. The only mistake, thinking that a long weekend was enough time to spend in beautiful Slovenia! The Torkars are very gracious hosts and the apartment was immaculate when we arrived. The covered porch was a peaceful place to sit in the evening with a nice glass of wine and just enjoy the silence and reflect on the beauty that is all around you. We are Americans living in Germany for a short time so we have tried to make several short trips throughout Europe and typically rent apartments everywhere we go because of the children and the dog and this was one of the best experiences we have had. The children felt so at home and they were very upset when we had to leave. You will need a car to get around but, if you are flying into Ljubljana you would have one anyway. If you want bright lights and excitement then you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for peace, stunning beauty, and amazing company then you have found the right place. I would recommend it highly and I think we are going to break one of our rules about never doing the same thing twice and return here again!

“A pleasant surprise in Cerknica” We've been on holidays in Slovenia for a few years now, so we know the country quite well. This year we tried to do something different and went to a part of Slovenia where not a lot of tourists go. Close to the capital Ljubljana but untouched by mass-tourism we arrived in Cerknica and tried to find a place to sleep. Thanks to the local tourist-office we came in contact with Boris and his family. They are renovating the old farm of his oncle. When we came there, we were very impressed by the authenticity of the location. A warm welcome was given to us by the entire family, aswell as a tour in the house. Living as a child there, Boris surely knows a lot about the area. The very first day we made a tour with him around the lake. Besides from being a very entertaining guy, he told us all kinds of local stories a normal tourist just wouldn't hear. He also took a lot of efford in making our stay very pleasing, and got us into a special 4-hour cave-tour. Magnificent! We enjoyed our stay at Ostir's Farm aswell as the region and for sure we will return here some day!

“peacful base for exciting explorations” It is a very nice old farm house in a small village in the Kras region. The house is freshly renovated and modernised with taste. It has a very peacful yard, and at the same time excellent road connections in every direction. If you want to explore this beautiful part of Slovenia, the hosts can provide you with every information. The city of Trieste is a 20 min. drive away, the beaches about 40.
