“A perfect family week in a very special village” If you are looking for a charming and characterful, old French townhouse in an authentic and atmospheric French village then this is the property for you. By the end of our week we felt like locals, picking up our morning croissants from the boulangerie, buying our produce from the various food vans that visit the village square each day and enjoying a drink at the ever vibrant village bar. If you like French wine then you will be in heaven. Clos Centeilles is a wine estate in the village and is a real treat. The BBQ isn't really big enough whilst cooking for 15 people but otherwise the house and surroundings are an absolute delight.
Excellent stay in very well appointed cottage in lovely village
Our week-long stay at Hortensia Cottage was brilliant. The cottage itself comprises three floors with a fantasic top floor "suite" occupying the whole floor, including walk-in wardrobe and spacious bathroom. There were two other very good sized doubles on the first floor and ample living space on the ground floor with a well appointed kitchen and very comfortable lounge. The living space is complemeted with not one but two totally separate terraces, one which enjoyed more shade in the heat of the day while the other, larger one was equipped with an excellent stone built barbeque and large dining table. Neither are overlooked and made for great alfresco dining. We also liked the thought that has gone into providing other little extras such as a cool box, tennis racquets (there is a free tennis court in the village), other beach "stuff" for kids, board gamesand plenty of books! Locally, the village of Siran is very pleasant and includes a small general store, boulangerie and decent sized bar/brasserie run by a very nice family, with a lovely shaded outdoor dining terrace less than two minutes from the cottage. A must visit is the beautiful (enormous) swimming/watersports lake and lakeside restaurant just outside the next door village of Pepieux, ten minutes away by car and much closer than the beach. No real negatives about our stay, excellent throughout as was the weather. Suggest a couple of extra fans as temperatures overnight in the summer will get high. Will be back for sure!! …
4 Rue de la Mairie
A truly Beautiful house in a lovely friendly village!
I thought turning fifty would be the most miserable time in my life, How wrong I was! I was treated for my birthday to a week in no.4 Rue de la Mairie, a house that can only be described as beautiful, gorgeous, a little aged like myself, but this only added to its homely feel, it is certainly a home I would happily stay in for my next fifty years! It's original features are sublime, and it's modern additions ( swimming pool area, etc) would keep any guest, old or young in seventh heaven. Siran is a quiet, picturesque friendly village, and no.4 is by far one of its most prized gems, I would recommend it to everyone, and I will definitely be going back. …
