“Homely and spacious property, with basic amenities nearby” Property was clean, homely and spacious. Typical quiet village-location feel, with a few traditional deli and bakeries within seconds walking distance in the main square, and a general minimarket store (closed for redecoration during our stay) - the other, 5-10mins walk, a larger supermarket (including clothes section, dvds, and an entire section dedicated to yoghurt ...) Finding somewhere to go for an evening drink was a recurring problem, despite the apparent number of watering holes we saw during the daytime, so plan ahead for nights "in", unless you want to go down to the Casino, where you will naturally end up paying over the odds for the pleasure. On a short stay, some very pleasant local walks in the woods by the lake for an hour or so, and quite possible longer if you looked at a map. Again, dining was always chez nous, though we did try the pizzeria, which was... a pizzeria. We made use of the visitor guides left at the property to get ideas for things to do; in the village itself, there seemed to be little. There's internet available at the property, though the wifi was sadly an intermittently functioning service while we were there, though this could have been due to us as eight people each with data-hungry laptops and smartphones assuming it could handle the traffic. Connect when you need to and you'll probably be fine. Given the poor weather, we enjoyed comfortable long nights in amusing ourselves in front of the warming fire.
