“Memorable holidays” Very nice stay. The whole village is one of the most picturesque villages in the Greek islands, where all the houses - most of them recently renovated with colorful Cycladic style gardens - are set amphitheatrically around the central square of the village. Villa Sophia is amazing. Although it is fully renovated and luxurious, they have maintained all the details of the original house that was built almost 150 years ago. We did feel that we traveled back in time. Some of the best family pictures were taken in this house. We will definitely miss the breakfast in our private garden as well as the very stylish swimming pool in the black-rock veranda of the villa. The service was very good and the staff was attentive and tactful. We did find the tranquility and the privacy that were looking for, although the distance from all the "must see" places of the island is 10 minutes by car (except from Oia that took us appx 30 minutes). We will definitely try to repeat it soon.
“Amazing stay!” I thought the Fava Residence was absolutely fantastic and certainly better than I had hoped for. It's a bit of a walk to get to (about 6 minutes from the nearest car park / bus stop) although at the same time I think this is part of the charm as it creates a sense of serenity away from the hustle and bustle of the very touristy areas fifteen minutes away. The residence itself is very well-managed, with an amazing view, clean facilities all around, very comfortable and sizeable rooms at what I found to be the best prices in Santorini. The owner himself was incredibly helpful and friendly, and he provided us with all the information we needed to get around as well as advice and introduction on how to get discounted rates around town. I was also quite moved when he gifted us a bottle of what I later learned is the best local wine in town on our wedding day.
