ABOUT THE CHAPEL: The Chapel, Wing is an early 19th Century stone built Grade II listed Methodist Chapel sympathetically converted at the turn of the 21st Century to create a unique Modernist open plan house. Winner of The George Phillips Award and featured in "Living Etc." magazine. Set in the rolling countryside of Rutland at the edge of a beautiful quiet conservation village overlooking the Chater Valley. Unrestricted parking on Road immediately outside.
!!NOT SUITABLE!! for children between mobile babies and age 8 for safety reasons. Babes in Arms and children age 8 plus welcome.

At Ground Floor the Living / Kitchen / Dining Areas. An ‘L’ shaped sofa provides ample space for you to relax with freeview smart TV & blu-ray player to keep you entertained and a wood burning stove to add to the heat and the ambience of your stay. The Kitchen area has a 4 plate electric hob together with both fan and conventional ovens, an american style fridge/freezer,numerous utensils, cutlery, saucepans, frying pan, small wok and oven dishes and other items. Not to mention the kettle, 4 slice toaster, microwave oven and cafetiere. There is a dishwasher below the sink and hidden away under the stairs is a washing machine. The Dining Area has a table and chairs to seat four very comfortably. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware provided.
A full inventory of kitchen contents is emailed prior to your stay to ensure you are fully prepared should you wish to take full advantage of the kitchen.
Many disposable household and sundry items included at no extra charge inc. dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, soap, hand cream, washing up liquid, cleaning products, salt and pepper, etc.
A welcome pack of Clipper tea bags and coffee and Hot chocolate sachets, sugar, fresh milk and local hand made biscuits is provided for your arrival free of charge. Whenever possible fresh flowers (usually garden flowers or cultivated wild flowers) are included free of charge.
At the Mezzanine level there are two Bedroom areas and a Bathroom. The two Bed areas have glass balustrade viewing to the Living Area below. The Master Bedroom area has a king size bed and side boards with shelving below and reading lamps above. This area is provided with a DAB radio alarm clock. The Second Bedroom area has a small (4ft wide) double bed with bed side table, shelf and bed side lamp. All bedlinen is provided free of charge and changed immediately prior to your stay and weekly during your stay if you stay for more than 7 days. The Bathroom appears modest from the outside, but is comfortably equipped with an electric towel rail, washbasin, WC and bath with shower facilities over. 4 bath sheets, 2 hand towels4 face cloths and 2 bath mats are provided free of charge and changed weekly during your stay if you stay for more than a week.. A few Toilet rolls are provided.
Linking these three areas is a landing with a substantial amount of wardrobe and storage space including an airing cupboard, and plenty of hangers. There is a shoe rack downstairs also.
There is a hair dryer, portable makeup mirror, an iron, ironing board and folding clothes horse for your use should you require them.
Outside, to the front of The Chapel there is a small graveled area which is just big enough for a few chairs and a bistro table (provided). Perfect for sitting out under the stars and having a bite to eat and drink. While The Chapel is strictly no smoking, please feel free to use this outdoor area to indulge. Please help yourselves to the culinary herbs growing in the wall baskets.
CYCLE STORE: Down the side of the building there is a store which you are welcome to use. It is large enough to comfortably stow away a few bicycles and has a bolted door which can be padlocked to provide security. The padlock is provided.
WASHING LINE: Down this side of The Chapel there is also a retractable washing line.
CAR PARKING: Car Parking is on the road directly in front of The Chapel. Parking is never usually a problem as the road is quiet and not a through road.
HEATING: Each of the main areas of The Chapel has its own individually controllable energy efficient electric heater (the night stores in some of the photos have been replaced) which is pre-programmed, but allows you to easily override the settings should you need to. For those of you who wish to, the wood burning stove is available for use. We ask that you only use the well seasoned wood and kindling provided. A bundle of logs and kindling is provided at the beginning of your stay free of charge and refreshed weekly if your stay lasts for over a week. Matches provided. Additional wood can be purchased for a (small economical) fee during your stay. There are four large sash windows which can be opened should the weather be very hot.
CHILDREN: Due to the nature of the property, especially at the Mezzanine level, while we encourage "Babes~in~arms", but we do not feel it suitable for "mobile" children between 9 months and 8 years old. Sorry.
BABES~IN~ARMS: We provide several items of equipment for babies staying at The Chapel free of charge upon request including a travel cot / change table / bassinet combo, a secure high chair, a Jogger City Mini push chair (suitable from birth), age appropriate cutlery and crockery, play mat, and a baby bath with bath toys, bedding, change mat with replacement covers and baby towels. Hopefully this will help reduce the space taken up in your car for the journey here! Bedding includes cot linen, blankets and sleeping basg, but you'll probably want to bring your own in addition. All of the baby equipment is of a good quality and is checked and steam cleaned before and after each use. Please let us know when you book if you would like to use these facilities so that we may prepare them ahead of your arrival.
DOGS & PETS: Sorry, but due to the nature of the property and lack of enclosed garden, we do not feel it suitable for animals to stay.
CHANGE OVER DAY: Generally the change over day is Friday, however for those long weekenders or mid-week breaks Monday can be arranged. Please feel free to contact us if another day would be preferable and we'll see what we can do. Arrive: anytime after 3pm. Vacate: before 10:15am. The Chapel is immaculately presented and professionally cleaned and checked between each visit.
WI-FI / INTERNET ACCESS: Wi-fi / Internet access is available. Details for connection are found in the information welcome pack. This also means you can use the smart tv to access catch up tv using BBC iplayer, itv player, All4 etc.
On your arrival there will be a detailed information welcome pack, containing all you need to know about The Chapel and its facilities as well as local amenities ,attractions and other such tourist information. Information is also provided about the local area from a more practical point of view such as whereabouts of supermarkets, garages, car repair shops, doctors, dentists etc. etc. We have tried to provide as much useful information as possible to help you to minimise the time spent familiarising yourself with the area so you can get on with enjoying your holiday! However, should you require any information before you get here please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Chapel was an ideal place to stay for a few days. Ideal location for Rutland Water and other amenities in the area.

Would not write home about it. Nice location. Bedrooms are open to the whole rental. No privacy. Otherwise good but would not book again.
Owner's reply: Hi David, We are sorry you found The Chapel disappointing however, the property description does state quite clearly within the listing "..This property is open plan design – the only internal walls being around the Bathroom!.." and we feel that we have demonstrated this very clearly in the photographs provided. We are not sure what more we can do to make guests more aware of the internal arrangement of the property? Any suggestions would be welcome. We hope your next holiday let is more suited to your requirements.
We had a lovely relaxing break in The Chapel. The property was spotlessly clean, well equipped and with excellent appliances. It was the ideal place to explore the beautiful county of Rutland.

We had a very good stay The Chapel was a very interesting and well equipped base to stay and explore the area. The owners were helpful when we had a problem and were able to give any advise we needed. With several folders on the amenities in the area which were very useful.

“Amazing bolt hole in a super location”
Everything about the chapel was brilliant. The warm welcome from the neighbors (hello Kev ), the beautiful and tranquil setting and the great village pub..amazing food and lovely staff. The farm shop at Wing Hall is superb, selling gorgeous local food, it made me wonder why I had brought supplies from home! One note of caution: we are reasonably fit but the hill on bikes from both directions between Wing and Rutland Water was an absolute lung buster...but that first pint once done will have been well earned
