Location description from owner

The Dalmatia region

The Unesco (World Heritage) site of Trogir is approximately 4 km away offering a perfect slice of high Venitian style within the crystal clear, azure Adriatic. Tiny picturesque pedestrianised streets, open air courtyard restaurants, architectural riches a plenty, with chic, yet unpretentious bars and cafes. Daily markets offers fine quality fresh produce ( most things available ) including great seafood, local fruits and vegetables with other specialities of the region such as the delicious locally cured hams and cheeses.Split city, described by its people as ‘the most beautiful in the world and beyond’ is easily accessible, by road or if preferred by local water taxi in under an hour. The ancient site of Salona (Roman capital of Dalmatia) is within a short drive from Split.Ferries to several neighbouring islands depart from Split. Including Brac, Hvar and Vis.

Trogir

The island of Ciovo is an islet of Trogir's archipelago. The town of Trogir is the central part of the Rivera and also the most historic. Its intricate fascades, churches and monuments, has beautifully imortalised the many centuries of flamboyant artistic strength and inspiration both from the Romans and latterly the Venitians.Meander the narrow streets of Trogir with its many bars and restaurants, or visit the daily fresh produce and fish markets. Relax on the waterfront or visit the local churches, museums and castle. Savour and enjoy the moments... a plenty !Zadar - approximately 1 hour 30 by car.Krka National Park : a wilderness of waterfalls and walkways is approximately 45 minutes north by car.Plitvice National Park approximately 2 hours.

“Great location, awesome views”

Reviewed 20 May 2014

Booked at short notice and wasn't disappointed. Apartment was clean, tidy and well laid out. Local contact, Boshena, was very helpful and spoke very good english ( lives next door so always on hand if required.) The apartment was well stocked with DVD's & books for when relaxing on the balcony & there was a selection of local shops supplying the basics, all within walking distance. Found a local diving school which was a 15 minute walk from the apartment which provided some spectacular diving (Trogir Diving) The staff were very helpful and catered for all abilities.

“Best Views In Town!”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2013

We stayed at Bay West back in September for a week of scorching sunshine and glorious sea views. As previous reviews have said Richard the owner was very helpful prior to departure and once in resort Bozena takes up the baton and helps out with any queries. She arranged for transfers to and from the airport with a very entertaining driver who offered to sort anyone out if they were rude to us! My wife and I clearly looked like troublemakers! The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the aircon was lovely after a day on the beach. Breakfast on the large balcony each morning was a real treat and if the weather ever turned bad ( we only saw one cloud) you could entertain yourself with the fine selection of DVDs. Would happily recommend this place to anyone

“Stunning view”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2012

Bay West is a lovely modern, bright apartment with a stunning view. It is very well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed having the DVD's when it rained and were happy to settle in most evenings and watch the sun set from the west facing balcony. Richard, the owner, could not have been more helpful and generous with his time answering questions before we went and offering advice. Bozena was also on the ground to help meet and greet and offer help when we there. We loved walking round the island to different beach locations but if don't have a car you will keep off the extra pounds of weight from the lovely meals by walking up the rather steep hill up. It is worth it!

“A lovely apartment in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

A well-equipped, clean, modern comfortable apartment on the hill overlooking Okrug Gornji with fantastic sea views from the balcony. The owner was very helpful and friendly answering all our questions and sending us lots of information and photos before we booked. He arranged an airport pick up for us and the apartment manager was waiting for us upon arrival with a bottle of wine, a very nice touch! Okrug Gornji has some fun bars and a couple of good restaurants and is only a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. For a lot more choice just take the water taxi from Okrug Gornji over to Trogir, a beautiful place to wander around for the day. Ins hort, a great place for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings!

“An Apartment with it all”

“Tip top flat with stunning views”

Reviewed 28 May 2012

A new'ish, very comfortable, quality apartment with wonderful views, tasteful linens and a lovely big 'sit out' balcony. Only about 10 minute walk down hill (not that steep) to centre of village, which has a few bars/restaurants and small supermarkets, then a further 10 minutes down the hill to the waterfront, which is very pretty with small harbour area, a few more restaurants and beaches. Some lovely walks along sea front around forested areas, with plenty of small bathing areas - beautiful clear sea. Would definately recommend car here. Trogir is about 4 miles, (like a smaller Dubrovnik) Krka Waterfalls (Wow!), Primosten, Vodice all highly recommended and easily accessed wth about 30 - 40 mins. We only stayed for 4 nights at this flat, which was not long enough in this beautiful unspoilt area, so will be returning. Richard, the owner, could not have been more helpful with details of area etc. We would highly recommend and return.

“Clean, comfortable Apartment , with sizeable balcony to enjoy the beautiful views.”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2011

The apartment is high above Okrig Gornji, some 15 mins walk from shops, restaurant & beach or harbour. Views from balcony were magnificent , with some spectacular sunsets. Quiet location. Apartment is modern, clean, light , and well equiped - though personal preference would have been washing machine, rather than dishwasher. Also, microwave would be useful. The owner, Richard, could not have been more helpful, from initial contact, right through until our return journey. He answered all our queries about the location and apartment, prior to us going, and sorted a 'meet & greet' at Split Airport. Bozena, the local representative, ensured a warm friendly welcome, and she was always on hand, if required. We found the Island location great for exploratory walking , or on hired cycles, around the coastline - very easy to get away from any crowds, even in August. Water Taxi is a terrific service, giving effortless access to Trogir and the mainland. Great holiday.

“Cosy and neat appartment, feel yourself at home on Adriatic”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2011

This apartment has everything you need for a perfect Adriatic holiday. It has spacious studio where you can prepare your meals, dine and rest on the cosy sofa. Huge balcony with stunning view will make your breakfasts and suppers unforgettable. Sunsets are something to enjoy. The road to the beach is indeed somewhat steep, so consider hiring a scooter (can be done right on the beach) if you are not perfectly fit. Beach is pebble, which is quite usual for Adriatic coast. It has several cafes/pizzerias if you want to dine outside, couple of shops with everything you need to prepare your meals yourself and also a harbour from where boats to Trogir go. At the harbour you can buy fresh fruits throughout the day, also fish boats arrive at the morning and sell fresh fish for you to cook. Water taxis to Trogir are quite frequent and cost little. Trogir, apart from the old city sightseeing and souvenirs, offers a very good market - fruits, vegetables, fresh fish/scampi, olive oils etc. There is no free wifi in the apartment, so if you'd like to go online, you can either pay or go down to the beach where there is a cafe with free wifi. Note that even if you pay for a hotspot access, the best signal is on balcony only. The apartment itself is very good, all furniture and bathroom equipment are of high quality. If I were building a home for myself on Adriatic coast, I'd make it exactly like this apartment. Do not hesitate to call and speak to the owner, Richard, he has answers to all your questions. Bozena, the local manager, is very kind and nice person, she will help you with everything, from getting you from the airport, to kindly letting out her laptop for you to check your emails (for example, she prepared a bottle of local wine and some bread/cheese for us as a welcoming gift!).
