“Nice property .....requiring attention”

This property is in a nice quiet situation away from the large resorts. The directions were good – however it’s difficult to find if travelling in the dark – as the numbering system on the properties is very confusing and not logical ! There is a lovely shared pool and nice views to the sea. A car would be necessary – if even for shopping - as the nearest shop is along an extremely busy road – and not safe for walking. However, there is a good bus service in the area. While the property provides all the necessary essentials (no television or wi fi), it is badly in need of an upgrade in terms of maintenance and presentation. The front garden (at the ground floor) area is very uncared for – with weeds and rubbish – and the gate fallen off its hinges – initially not a good impression. The lighting in the property is very poor – needing more lights – as well as the replacement of many bulbs currently missing . There is no lighting on the steps up to the door of the house or on the front patio – thus making it dangerous and impossible to sit/read or eat on the front patio after dark. Internally the property would benefit greatly from a coat of paint – and most importantly the bed linen and curtains need to be replaced urgently – as they are definitely past their best. I note some of these points were raised in a previous review from May 2015 - hopefully attention will now be paid to this property in order to maximise its potential and deserve a recommendation.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback. I haven’t received similar from other guests so it is useful. We appreciate that the accommodation is basic; we aim we to offer a clean, functional apartment that represents value for money, and has the benefit of being in a lovely setting. We try our best to give a fair representation of the property in the listing (and not over sell it). Clean linen and towels are always provided, all of which are relatively new. The apartment probably could do with more lights but we like to think it’s rustic, and there is an outside light at the front which guests are welcome to use and leave on. Our work to maintain and where possible upgrade the accommodation is continuous. For example, we replaced the bathroom a few months ago. Thanks again for your feedback.

“So relaxing and peaceful”

We had a marvellous week here. Close enough to everything but so peaceful and quiet. We loved sitting on the balcony looking out to the sea in the mornings and evenings and also eating our breakfast out there. Its close enough to everything to get around but very relaxing, and peaceful. So much better than staying in a commercial hotel. Would definately recommend.

My wife, kids (10 & 6) and I all had a great stay here. The pictures and advice were spot on. We rented a car, so airport transfers and trips to the nearby beaches were easy. The pool was a pleasant temperature and the kids were in it almost every day - not bad for February! The gas was a bit of a fiddle but we got the hang of it and it would have been nice if the dishwasher had been working but those are the only negatives. Fittings are all basic but it is clean and reasonable priced. There was no traffic or noise from neighbours and we didn't feel that our kids and family fun was distracting to our neighbours, who all seemed very pleasant. The partially covered area out the back was ideal for BBQ s, hanging out & hanging wet towels. While my kids weren't happy I was thrilled with no TV/DVD, so if you have kids - take games & packs of cards.

We loved this simply but comfortably furnished apartment. We particularly liked the partly covered rear patio which was equipped with attractive wooden table and chairs where, even in March, we were able to sit until bedtime. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms had plenty of storage space. The well kept shared pool area was great for relaxing. It was usually quiet but there could sometimes be a shortage of sun loungers. We would have not liked to have been without a car as the nearest shop is not really within walking distance. Also there were only two restaurants that you could walk to. Anyway you need a car to be able to fully appreciate this beautiful island. The owner was a pleasure to deal with.

Just the job for a week or two in the sun and a real character property, not your average concrete block rabbit hutch! Be sure to book a hire car. The complex has a great pool, is quiet, and has superb views of the sea. Local beaches and restuarants are also nearby.

“Fab Holiday in accommodation with perfect view”

Spent one week in Gran Canaria to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had never been before but will certainly be back. Weather was great especially when it meant missing the snow at home. Lots to see and do and plenty of choice of restaurants. The best part for me and my husband was the stunning views from our accommodation while our children loved the pool which they had to themselves a lot of the time.

Excellent location in the south of the island only five minute drive from the amadores beach. The apartment is in a lovely well kept complex with a family size pool deep and shallow for all the family. The apartment is basic but very clean and two excellent size double bedrooms with plenty of cupboard space for clothes and bags. Outside eating to the rear is excellent and private for a quiet evening meal and drink. Would definitely stay in this apartment complex again owner was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish of the holiday.
