The guest house
Litlabjarg is a peaceful guest house in the countryside, 25km from Egilsstadir and 5 mn drive off Route 1. You will enjoy the beautiful views of the Jokulsardalur valley and Jakulsa river. We have a family farm that you can come visit (with sheeps, horses, goats), only 5mn drive of 15mn walk from the guesthouse. In the guesthouse, we also have a local shop where you can find handmade Icelandic clothes, open to visitors most days.

Guest have access to the fully equiped kitchen, living room, 2 big bathrooms (bath and shower) and covered veranda at the front of the guesthouse.
Guest interaction
We live on a farm close to the guesthouse and are normally available within 5mn if there are any problems. We are happy to help with any travel advice or other questions you may have. Guests are welcome to visit our farm and local store - just give us a call to make sure we are around.

Litlabjarg Guest house is located in the Jokulsardalur valley and 25km from Egilsstadir. It is only 5 mn drive from route 1 and in a peaceful location surrounded by few farmhouses nearby. Visitors can hike in the valley, drive to any number of beautiful and fascinating places in the East Iceland, or visit our farm down the hill.
Getting around
The guesthouse has its own car park immediately outside. No public transportation but easy driving access to Route 1 (5mns), Egilsstadir (25mn), and Vopnafjordur (beautiful 1hr drive during summer months). There are buses from Egilsstadir to Akureyru and many other local towns.
Direction
Turn off Route 1 at Bruaras onto route 917. Litlabjarg is 5 mn drive alon 917, look for our blue sign on the left.
