From the manager

A 46 sq. meters cottage with 2 bedrooms with accommodation for up to 5 persons. Located on a beautiful farm in Pétursey, 20 km west of Vík.

Good hiking possibilities up to the mountains and glaciers, and the beach is 2,5 km away. Horse rental on the neighboring farm. Boat trips to Dyrhólaey. Folk museum at Skógar 16 km. At the farm, milk is produced and carrots are cultivated.

Bed linen and towels can be included for an extra ISK 1500 per person, paid in cash upon your arrival. You can request them via email or in person when you come to collect your cottage key at our door.

Description of the area in more detail:

Our cottages sit right under the majestic Pétursey mountain and provide a fantastic view in all directions. There are numerous attractions and points of interest nearby, for example the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano which erupted in 2010, the Mýrdalsjökull and Sólheimarjökull glaciers with the possibility of a glacier jeep tour or a glacier walking tour, the beautiful Dyrhólaey peninsula which is one of the most famous landmarks of Iceland and a favorite nesting areas for the cute puffins in the summer months, as well as beautiful black beaches, basalt columns and sea stacks. 20 km east of Pétursey is a sweet little village of Vík with a supermarket, post office and a gas station, while 16 km west of Pétursey is the famous Skógar folk museum and a waterfall. You are welcome to take a pleasant walk to the beach or take a ride down there on the back of a renown Icelandic horse which you can rent on the neighboring farm. If you prefer to visit us in winter, there is a high possibility that you will be treated to a spectacular northern lights show.

And if you would rather take it slowly and just relax in the cottage and on the premises of the farm, you are welcome to sit on a patio and read a book, grill outside or have a picnic, walk up to the top of the Pétursey mountain or visit the sweet calves in our cow house and maybe feed them fresh carrots from our own carrot fields.

- Please book bed linen/towel or bring your own.

You can also bring a sleeping bag.

- The key to the cottage can be picked up on the farm, in the white house on the left. Just come to the door where we will greet you and hand you the key with any extra information you might need.
