Very Good

“A beautiful house in a beautiful location which is perfect for visiting most of Skye's dramatic scenery.”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2017

A very comfortable cottage with great views over the river Snizort and hills beyond. The house is equipped to a very high standard from the quality bedding to the kitchen cookware, crockery and cutlery. It is in a great location for touring the sites of Northern Skye, and visiting the local crafts and pottery shops. For golfers, the nine hole course across the road, is quite challenging, and has very reasonable rates.

“Fantastic, cosy... A dream”

We had à very nice stay in skeabost wood cottage. The place is really pratical, WE feel like we could stay here forever. The cottage is really well located to explore isle of skye. All the books and hike maps help us to choose our schedule and go to explore Skye. We would love to come back again. In this cottage, we make a wonderful memory for our familytime.

This place is spectacular - a luxurious warm and comfortable cottage with A lovely view - we were lucky enough to have good weather and wanted to explore .. there's plenty of books and travel tips giving information on the best places to go but this cottage was so comfortable i didn't want to go out . Skye is amazing and this made it perfect

“Fantastic cottage, couldn't recommend highly enough.”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2016

Super cottage in a great location perfect for visiting all areas of the island and close to main town Portree. Facilites/ amenities second to none. Fantastic views. We looked at a lot of cottages before deciding on this particular one and it didn't disappoint. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

“Cool cottage with great view”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2016

Great central spot with quick access to photo hotspots like the Old Man, Neist Lighthouse etc. Supermarket within 10 minute drive on the outskirts of Portree. Really enjoyed coming back to the cottage after a day out in the biting December wind taking photos and firing the wood burner up. Would definitely recommend although be aware the term 'wifi' should be looked upon as optimistic (don't be expecting to video call anyone from this cottage) but then this is the kind of place you come to in order to get away from it all isn't it :)

“Incredible cottage with amazing views from every window”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2015

Loved the cottage, we liked how close it was to Portrree yet loved the seclusion/ fact that it was setback on its own outside of town. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed ( really appreciated teabags etc). We found it lovely and cosy at night and I'd recommend it to anyone. In fact I'd like to have my own version of it somewhere!!!!

“Perfect holiday cottage for my family”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2015

My family and I found Skeabost Wood Cottage an ideal base for our week on Skye. The cottage was the perfect size for the four of us and it is beautifully decorated with a well-stocked kitchen. For me, the main delight was the view, which is very much on display thanks to the large windows. Highlights for my children were the grounds and wooded area around the cottage and the selection of family board games and DVDs. We all enjoyed walking in the area around the cottage and found the Skeabost Memorial Hall a very friendly place to pop in for a toastie. There was so much for us to see and do on Skye (and on Raasay too, where my children loved "crating") and I would be delighted to return to the cottage in future and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Idyllic Comfort”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2015

The tranquil setting and the quality of the cottage made for an idyllic holiday on Skye. Just perfect.

“The place of dreams.....”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2015

I have been to the Isle of Skye about a dozen times and this, without a shadow of a doubt was the finest place I have ever stayed there. The Skeabost wood cottage is like a grand designs cabin that has been done up to the highest possible standard. It is immaculate throughout and the location is awesome! I seriously mean this when I say it; I will be back and will not look at other accommodation on the island. Sat back at my desk in London I have spent hours in the last few weeks looking out at the sky and day dreaming....mainly about Skye and the Skeabost Cottage in the Woods. If you do go there the sundise in the morning is a must see over the massive expanse of the view from the cottage! Amazing. Thanks you!!

“Wonderful Spot”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2014

Cottage is as good as it looks in the pictures with great outlook across green fields. It's well equipped and maintained and we would be happy to stay there again. Good location for touring the northern part of Skye
