We offer a family-friendly cottage in a family-friendly area. Please understand we cannot accept bookings from parties consisting of adults only. We rent only to families.

Northern Knights is a beautiful 3 bedroom cottage just steps from the beach on Prince Edward Island, Canada. We have earned a three-star rating from Canada Select.

Located in Green Gables Shore (Queens County), this cottage was completely renovated in 2011. Formerly one of "Murphy's Sea View Cottages", this spacious gem is nestled in a small group of cottages and overlooks the ocean.

Conveniently located in north central PEI, the cottage is a short drive from Kensington and Summerside and is close to shopping, dining, and attractions. Whether you want to visit Avonlea and walk the beaches of Lucy Maude Montgomery, learn Celtic dancing, take the lighthouse tour, or feast on PEI mussels and lobsters, Northern Knights is the place to stay.

Northern Knights underwent a complete facelift in 2011. We began by adding a third bedroom that faced the sea. The new bedroom has great views through its picture window along with a smaller window on each side wall. Each of the other bedrooms also received new windows, making them brighter and compliant with Provincial fire codes. We removed the old wood burner and replaced it with modern propane heat to take the chill off on a cool summer evening. We expanded the kitchen by installing all new cabinets, countertops, and a breakfast bar. And we brought it into the 21st century by adding a dishwasher, a stacked washer/dryer unit, and a water filtration system. And what would a new kitchen be without a new bath?! We replaced the toilet, sink, vanity, and flooring. All of the additions necessitated upgrading the plumbing and the electrical system throughout. We finished with new flooring, a new ceiling treatment, a fresh coat of paint, new furniture, and all new curtains, linens, and bedding.

Flat screen TV and Internet video streaming are new.

This guest wrote “five-star” comments but gave only three stars without explanation. I sent the guest an email requesting an explanation, but have not received a reply. If there was something they didn’t like I can’t do anything about it unless they tell me what it is. It us unfair to property owners for guests to write a rave review, then assign less than five stars without even a private explanation.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact James (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send James (the owner) a message.

If James (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
