Location description from owner

The Sardinia region

Sardinia island is fantastic and very interesting, with some of the cleanest and least crowded beaches in Italy.

The island has a Mediterranean climate, but the south is generally much drier than the North West region, which receives a lot of rain in winter. The wettest months are November and December, while July and August are the hottest and driest, averaging about 95 F (35 C), sometimes reaching 104 F (40 C). In winter, temperatures along the coast between 50 F and 68 F (10-20 C).

The capital and largest city is Cagliari, a good base from which to explore other parts of the island. Despite its size, the charming old town is compact, contained within the city walls and fortifications of Pisa. The main attractions are the National Archaeological Museum, which contains prehistoric tombs and other significant artifacts from Punic and Roman, the impressive cathedral, and a smattering of Roman ruins. The village has a Poetto four miles (6 km) stretch of sandy beach with some small bars nearby. The famous Nuraghe Su Nuraxi Barumini area are within easy reach of the city.

Santa Margherita di Pula

There are two supermarkets, a newsagent, a butcher and fishmonger, all within 500 meters away.

In Pula, Santa Margherita, Chia, Domus de Maria, Cape Teulada Malfatano and there are several restaurants where you can experience the best premises delicacies. There are many pizzerias, discos and pubs.

Pula's main square there are musical performances every night during the summer, and shops stay open until midnight.

Near Nora has a beautiful aquarium. There are also impressive Roman, Phoenician and Punic remains to be seen, and a trip with a canoe can be arranged. In the forests of Is Cannoneris Piscina Manna you can enjoy the flora and fauna.

Guests can rent boats, go fishing or sailing and diving in marinas around lost and Salts, Green Cove and Teulada.

You can also play golf or tennis or horseback riding in the beautiful Molas Golf Resort.

The Is Molas golf course is one of the most famous in Italy, and has been the benchmark for this sport in Sardinia for over thirty years. Thanks to the proximity of the sea and the protection of the surrounding hills the locality of Is Molas enjoys a unique microclimate, mild and particularly favourable for golf all year round: the temperature reaches 20 degrees C at the beginning of the spring, rises to over 30 in summer and even in December and January can easily exceed 15 degrees.
The golf course at Is Molas was the first in Sardinia and with its twenty-seven holes is the largest on the island.
The eighteen holes of the championship course have been created out of a collaboration between the Cotton, Pennink & Partners studio and Piero Mancinelli. The greens and bunkers are American in size and style, while the fairways are broad enough to forgive a slice. The Is Molas championship course is considered one of the most technically satisfying and spectacular courses not just in Italy, but in the whole of the Mediterranean area. It has staged many prestigious competitions, including four Italian Opens and a European Volvo Masters.
The nine holes of the Yellow Course, the most difficult to play, have been laid out by Franco Piras, Gary Player Design’s representative in Italy. The presence, along the course, of all the typical species of Sardinia’s native flora and the Mediterranean macchia makes the Is Molas Golf Club a beautiful garden with a view of the sea.
The Club House is elegant and well-equipped: there is a bar with a panoramic terrace, a pro shop and the Ristorante Is Molas, open at lunchtime and for special occasions, which offers a creative Mediterranean cuisine based on local Sardinian products.
It is possible to hire a cart, set of clubs and other equipment. Is Molas is also the seat of the Dan Williamson Academy, where golf lessons and courses can be booked.

“Home away from home!! Fantastic Experience !!”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

Villa Stella was everything we wanted in our vacation home!! Truly a 'home away from home'. We traveled with two small children 1year and 6 years old...outside was surrounded with children's toys for the house as well as the beach and a DVD player with children's movies as well as Cable TV with many international channel's to choose from. Wireless internet that worked GREAT inside and outside the house on all (4) Terraces. The property is very large and completely gated for privacy and security for the children to run free and play. The landscape of the property was absolutely beautiful!! We had a Gourmet Chef with our group and fell in love with the outdoor kitchen that was used everyday of our trip! The hit of the meals was Pizza Night! There is a wonderful pizza oven outside in the outdoor kitchen. It was great fun the kids had a ball making pizza's! There are 4 fully furnished Terraces surrounding the property that we spent most of our time at home lounging around :-) The location of this property is perfect....there are 2 markets within 3 minutes of the house...a fantastic butcher and fish market and just down the road we shopped everyday for fresh vegetables brought in by all the local farmers. Less than 10 minute drive we could visit the Town of Pula for shopping, Coffee in the morning and Ice cream for the children! 15 minutes the other direction are some additional beaches that are covered in white sand, Turquoise blue clear water that was warm and wonderful! 100 Meters from the house is a private beach we spent most of our day...Water was also clear and warm...a bar right on the beach for lunch, ice cream, drinks etc.... The owners of the property Susann her husband and son were more than accommodating and could not be sweeter people!!! Susann emailed every few days to check on things and see if we needed anything. All in all we had the best vacation ever!!! Thanks to Susann and her family opening their wonderful home/property to us!! I recommend this property highly !!! Sincerely, Laurèl

“Lovely, warm and relaxing home convenient to explore the south island.”

We loved our week long stay at Susanna's home! The location was very convenient to Chia beaches, Pula and historical Nora. There are 2 markets and a wonderful fishmonger very close by. The home itself is very comfortable, with amazing outdoor seating to enjoy the Sardinian breezes. We cooked nearly every night as her kitchen is so well equipped. We cooked many things on the outdoor stone grill as well. Susanna was so warm and welcoming and attentive to the needs of our whole family ranging from 10 to 70 yrs! She had snacks waiting for us on our late arrival and a lovely breakfast for the first morning. I would recommend this vacation home to families with children of any age. Thank you Susanna!!

“Great house and great place”

Location is great with the sea 200 m away, the beach is great - white sand and crystal clear water. Excellent facilities in the house, basically we were provided with whatever we could wish. Very convinient with small kids, lots of toys to play, garden and lots of terrases are fantastic. Would love to go back!

“Great Holiday Villa”

Reviewed 28 May 2012

My wife and I stayed for 6 days with my son, daughter-in-law and 2 grand daughters. The weather was mixed so we lived both in the house and made good use of the covered terraces. First can I say the setting and location are very good. The house is well equiped and everything is provided - the toys were suitable for our 2 year old grandchildren. One cannot fault the reception and hosting. The garden is beautiful and the beach only 200 yards away. With Pua, Nora and Baia Chia (great beach) within easy driving distance we were busy all week either on the beach or wandering around a town or Roman ruins. In sum the villa is ideal for a young family wanting a beach holiday.

“we love it !!”

That is the third time, we visit this wonderful place. This year in the summer, the last two years in october. We always spent very nice holidays, we felt well and most welcome. Here it is possible to relax, to enjoy time, silence, sun and see. The house is tastefully furnished, with a lot of love for details, one wants for nothing. The bathrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen is well-appointed. The several furnished terraces around the house, the big garden with palm-trees, pine-trees and fruit-trees invite to enjoy the summer outside. We and our son (7 y) love this house, this area, this island, the friendly people here...and of course susanna with her kindly family.

I thank my guests for this evening and pleasant recenzione.Ancora Thank you for choosing my home for three years, for their holidays. Every guest who comes to Villa Stella. always leaves me some good advice to make the house more comfortable, every year, I propose always new things and new comfort I would, like the host family again next year, in spring and autumn. I hope to review, this friendly family and welcome them amicably. goodbye

“Wunderschöner Urlaub”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2011

Thanks a lot to Emmanuel and his family, for this nice review. I'm always happy to receive a good review, and to know that my guests' holiday was relaxing and that the family and especially kids had a good time. I tried to offer them all the things that a family could need as soon as arrived in a new house. Villa Stella is ideal for families with children, because it is very close to the beach, and kids can play without any danger in the garden, while parents can relax in the wide and elegant terraces. The house offers all the comforts, and its best characterstic are the open air spaces. Again, thanks to my guests, I hope they will have the opportunity to come back again, because I'm trying to make the house bettere and better every year, and next year there will be certainly many new comforts. Also thanks to all the families that have been my guests and have caught the unique price-quality ratio of Villa Stella. Even in this moment of general economic difficulty, I believe to offer a good holiday for a reasonable price.
