The Grand Massif region
The French Alps are known for being snow-sure in winter, and warm in the summer.
Chez Bobeau is only 40 minutes away from Chamonix, Annecy with it's beautiful lake is less than an hour away and Lake Geneva in Switzerland is 50 minutes by car.
Samoens is the only "historically listed" ski resort in France, due to the beauty of its medieval architecture, and it has been awarded the "Coq D'Or" prize for being one of the most beautiful villages in France It has a tranquil peaceful atmosphere unlike most ski resorts.
Samoens - together with the other villages of Morillon, Flaine, Les Carroz and Sixt - makes up the Grand Massif ski area. Samoens offers direct access to fabulous skiing, starting at 1600, and rising to 2500m, with over 265km of pistes which cater for all abilities. All of our customers receive a 10% discount at the local ski hire shop, and included in the winter price is a day of free on-piste ski guiding.
Chez Bobeau is ideally positioned right next door to Samoens' outdoor swimming pool, lakes, tennis courts and adventure climbing for children. In summer the possibilities for out-door activities are endless - hiking, biking, rafting on the Giffre river, parapenting, climbing, jet skiing and Via Ferrata!! There is a 18 hole golf course only 20 minutes away.
Samoens centre has lots of individual shops; and there are a wide variety of restaurants - many of which offer Savoyarde specialities such as raclette and fondue.

"A holiday to remember"
We stayed at Chalet Bobeau over the Easter holidays. We were a little worried about booking so late in the season as we thought there wouldn't be much snow. Luckily we didn't have anything to worry about as the snow was the best I've ever experienced! We were a big group of separate families who are all friends. Liz/Andy and their hosts made it so relaxing and wonderful that we will most definitely book again. We had 6 children between us and they had an absolute ball. Liz/Andy recommended Ecole 360 and we thought they were really good. A short stroll from the chalet to the ski shop to the bubble up the mountain. Seamless, easy and helpful for families who are dealing with young kids with skis etc. Andy always ready to give lifts where he can to make life easier. The chalet is beautifully clean and comfortable and I thought the food/wine were excellent. We've been on a few ski holidays in our time and I do think that the cooking in this Chalet is up there with the best. Liz also helped us find excellent childcare so that we had time to relax with our friends knowing our kids were having their own little party in safe hands. We are still all talking about our holiday and can't wait for the next trip. I can't fault their hospitality and really feel it's value for money also.

"The Perfect Ski Holiday - Fabulous Chalet in Gorgeous Samoens"
Stayed here with 13 friends for a week this January and had a brilliant ski holiday which we would wholeheartedly recommend! Chez Bobeau is a gorgeous chalet in a great location with fab facilities including hot-tub and Pool room. Our holiday got off to a great start as the transfer time from Geneva is less than an hour and we were greeted with delicious cakes by friendly, welcoming hosts. The owners, Andy and Liz, know the area well and went out of their way to make our holiday extra special. Andy even took us out skiing one morning to help us get orientated and make the most of the 'massive' resort (which certainly lives up to its name). The skiing was amazing with an impressive selection of slopes suitable for all levels of skier (and boarder) and lots of potential for off-piste adventures too. For those hiring gear the shop the chalet recommends is right next to the lifts and will store your gear so no walking in ski-boots! They are also happy for you to swap equipment during your stay as needed. The chalet has lovely comfy rooms (most ensuite), large well-appointed reception rooms and all the little extras you could ask for (including log-fire, large tv, ipod dock, wi-fi, Pool table, table-football and board games). Particularly nice touches are the 7 man hot-tub - perfect after a day on the slopes - and the honesty bar and extensive range of books available to relax with in the evenings. The food was varied, plentiful and consistently delicious and the wine (and post-dinner cheese) superb. The chalet boasts spectacular views across the valley and is an easy 5 minute stroll from the ski-hire shop and the ski-lift in one direction and the picturesque town centre in the other. Samoens itself is a picturesque village with an array of restaurants, cosy apres-ski bars and very impressive bakeries and sweet shops for delicious snacks. We were very impressed with both chalet and resort and are keen to return for both further ski adventures and to experience the Alps in summer.
