The Umbria region
Umbria isoften described at the "Green Heart of Italy" or "The Garden State, with its stunning countryside, famous cuisine and rich historical heritage you can understand why it's such a favourite with "Italophiles". Olive groves, vineyards, sunflower fields, tiny churches with crumbling bell towers to towering Cathedrals. You could be spoilt for choice as there are so many interesting places to see. A real treat is to participate in the local festas and sagras that continue throughout the Summer months where you can dance , eat and drink with the locals.
The famous Umbria Jazz festival is normally every July , you can find little low - key acts in bars, pubs and on the street as well as the main headline acts , past performers inc. Elton John, Diana Ross, Randy Crawford, George Benson. In November, Perugia hosts the Chocolate Festa is must, for all chocolate lovers !
Marsciano is the nearest big town to Felcete, and offers plenty of resturants, shops, supermarkets and being very much a traditional "working Italian town" there is a Market every Monday in the centre.
Ripalvella is a tiny old village only 5 mins drive from Felcete, there is a small shop, a little "village" bar, normally very quite until in June there is a 4 day Festa.
Deruta is famous for it's ceremics, it is possible to go to one of the oldest establishments and create your own "ceremic work of art", we can organise this for you, also a day wine tasting in a local vineyard is a great thing to experience, Montefalco is a large "wine area" and there are many, smaller cantina's where you can take a tour and off course taste their wares..
If you like walking why not goTruffle hunting with specially trained dogs, and then perhaps a private cooking lesson with our residient proffessional chef, Flavia ..
We also have our own tennis courts on the grounds.
