Description

Le Heron 2 is part of the 'Le Cormier' holiday facility which is close to the popular medieval town of Loches and is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Obterre (has a bar and small shop) on the northern tip of the beautiful 'Brenne Parc Naturel Regional', known as the “Land of a Thousand Lakes” - the whole area is quite simply a wildlife and bird-watchers paradise in this relatively unspoilt area of the Berry / South Touraine area of the Loire Valley.

It is very easy to relax in this tranquil and peaceful setting, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and trees but with many local attractions to keep you occupied. We are ideally located for the famous chateaux of the Loire, vineyards (closest 9km), churches, museums, Futuroscope and, of course, surrounded by sleepy medieval towns. The rolling landscape makes it an ideal locality for cycling and walking enthusiasts alike.

We welcome children although would point out there are limited on-site facilities to keep them fully occupied.

The 5m above ground splash pool is shared with all visitors, including some of our small 12 pitch campsite visitors as well.

Le Heron 2 studio has a compact but comfortable living area comprising main living, dining, sleeping area with adjoining kitchenette, and separate toilet / shower room with wash-hand basin & electric heated towel rail.

The kitchenette is equipped with combined sink, drainer and double electric hob, also having cupboard space and wall shelving units for storage, a small electric oven, microwave, refridgerator, electric kettle, cups, saucers, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans along with coffee maker and toaster.

The dining table has 2 chairs (more are available if needed), and there are 2 single lounge chairs and a coffee table.

An electric convector heater provides warmth for the living area in case of chilly nights and the studio is equipped with TV (with UK Terrestrial Satellite), DVD player and Radio/CD player.

1 Double bed is normally provided but we can offer alternative options of single beds if requested. There are other permutations subject to availability of collapsible Z Beds (either single or double).

Small bedside cabinets, table lamps, chest of drawers and an integrated wardrobe and storage cupboard.

Visitors receive a welcome pack containing local information, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, washing up liquid etc. (plus a bottle of wine when staying 7 nights or more).

Towels, tea towels and toilet rolls provided free of charge. Change of bedding after one week

“Friendly, welcoming, stunning scenery and smiley faces”

I would strongly recommend La Comier to anyone. We stayed in one of the studio apartments, clean, very comfortable with everything that you could want. La Comier itself is a tranquil and beautiful place, the photos on the website don't do justice! The directions guided us easily and were helpful as our Sat Nav decided not to work in France! It is well situated, close to Loches and Bidore (a quaint village nearby). Cath and Mike went out of their way to help us, nothing was too much. I hope one day to be able to go back!

We had a great stay and would love to go back. The gite was clean and perfectly suited to our needs, 2 adults and a toddler. The swimming pool was great and the owners Mike and Kath were the perfect hosts, incredibly helpful and knowledgable. The gite was typically French and rustic, we can not recommend this place enough
