A lovely house that was warm and comfortable. Was perfectly positioned just a few mins walk from the promenade and came with all utilities and furniture needed for the holiday. The roaring fireplace was its best feature so watching that log fire cracking away was very relaxing. Double glazed windows so no loss of heat and kept the house quiet from the outside elements. The area was lovely and peaceful situated in a small estate of houses but with enough space that you felt private and not sharing your life with others. Highly recommend this house to other users

Thank you Ben and Fiona for taking the time to write these nice comments about our home. We are glad you enjoyed our open fire. You commented to me, and I agree, there is something comforting about watching the flames burning and glowing from the logs or peat. We are very convenient to the promenade where there are nice shops and restaurants, should you want a break from the kitchen. Of course there are all the tourist attractions which draws so many to the North Coast from all over the world. Hope to see you again soon.

“Great stay at a very well equipped family house”

Reviewed 4 Feb 2016

Stayed here for a short Halloween break. The hosts Geoff and Hilda were incredibly prompt and accommodating in responding to my impromptu booking (literally the day before planned arrival). They greeted us upon arrival and explained what was needed. Very welcoming and friendly. We stayed with a 5 year old, 3 year old and baby. Kids room came with some toys and books which was a bonus. Also there were buckets, spades etc for the beach. House was clean, kitchen had pretty much everything you could think of and would need (possibly the best I've encountered), good quality bed linens and mattresses made for a very comfortable stay. Easy walking distance to town or strand beach. Had a fabulous time and the added bonus of sunshine when we were there. Couldn't have asked for more (apart from a longer break)

Thank you Amanda for taking the time out of your busy day to write your review. You are obviously an incredibly well organised lady to set off on an impromptu break with three small children. Very often this kind of break is the best. It takes me back to when ours were the same age. The age difference is the same as yours, going to Grannies in Seafield Park, they loved the seaside. Thank you for your kind comments about the house, however it's not really about the house, it is the beautiful scenery and walks all around you We were delighted to see that the weather was so kind to you and the children really enjoyed their time at the seaside. You will be made very welcome when you return again.

This was our 3rd stay here and it was as good as ever. Accommodation and location is great but it is all the little extras that set it apart - lots of towels, wi-fi, lots of games and books and dvds to keep the kids entertained. We would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone coming to visit. Perfect.

Chris it was great to see you and your family again this year. You say this was your 3rd year with us but I know you have been coming to Portstewart for 20+ years. We are pleased you enjoyed your three weeks with us this year. Some have called our house a 'home from home', this might be because of the books, CD's, DVD's, games, buckets and spades, pushchair for tired children, etc "little extras". Hopefully a little bit more organised!!! See you soon.

“Great holiday home”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

This was our second time staying in this lovely house and it was just as fantastic as last summer. This is a very clean, well equipped holiday home which is well located and in close proximity to the promenade and shops. It was a lovely family home and our two young children loved it. The owners, Geoff and Hilda are a pleasure to deal with and have a personal touch. Would definitely recommend!

Thank you Olga, it was great that you came to Portstewart for two consecutive years and thanks again for choosing 1 Seafield Park. I am pleased that you found our standards had not slipped. I know your children look upon our home as 'Their' holiday home, which is great. Children can be so enthusiastic! Maybe see you again next year.

“Seafield Park”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2015

The location was wonderful, an easy walk to the golf course, beach and the Promenade. It was also very easy access to Ulsterbus services to get into Portrush, Coleraine or event Belfast (by train via Coleraine). It is also close to all the activities and restaurants in Portstewart, we would even take the bus to Portrush to enjoy the restaurants there, and it was less than 20 minutes door to door. The owners were wonderful and immediately addressed any questions and concerns and went out of their way to make our extended stay easier. We had the property for an extended period of time, and they assisted when needed. The listing was very accurate, we traveled with three teenagers so the WIFI access was a plus. The home was very clean and well manicured. I even had my cousin stay for a while and she loved it, she had a car and was able to access everything easily. I would definitely recommend Seafield Park to my family and friends.

Thanks Michelle, as you were coming all the way from Phoenix, U.S.A., we had to ensure you were in the right place to meet all your requirements during your stay. We are delighted that you were more than happy with our home. I hope you were able to complete a little more of your research at the University of Ulster, Coleraine, just up the road and your older son was able to “warm” up, well maybe just practice for the U.S. Kids World Championships at Pinehurst, North Carolina. There must be fewer places better than on the Portstewart and Royal Portrush golf courses. With so many golf courses available, this is surely a golfers paradise. You make an interesting observation when you mention getting around on the bus and train services, so you do not need to have ‘wheels’ to get around (I know you didn’t for a good part of your time). I know this was not your first visit to Portstewart, but I believe you also had time to take in a few of the wonderful sites in the area, as did your cousin from Canada, who, on her first visit told me she loved the area, with so many places to see. Thanks again for taking time out of your busy schedule to review your stay. Maybe see you next time.

“Really enjoyed our stay”

Reviewed 25 May 2015

Myself, husband and 2 kids (3 yrs old and 6 mths old) stayed here for 6 nights in May 2015 and would definitely go back. The owners were helpful and friendly throughout the booking process and our stay. The house was clean and child friendly - travel cot, highchair, buggy, even buckets and spades were provided. It really was a home from home. Location wise, the house is only a short walk to the promenade and the strand, and a great base for exploring other north coast attractions - gaints causeway, rope bridge, dunluce castle

Thanks Edele for taking the time to write your review. I am pleased you found the position of our home to your liking. As you state our home is convenient not just for the sand, sea and shops (and restaurants), but also to many of our world renowned attractions. I know the weather was not always sunny for you, but as you told me, hot sun does have its own problems for babies and toddlers. I was so pleased when you told me you were out on the beach even when it was dull and cloudy. I was glad young James made good use of buckets and spades. Not so glad to see that Dad broke his arm just before leaving for your holiday. You will have to return and this time YOU have the holiday, hopefully with Jim ‘firing on all fours’. See you soon.

“Excellent. Home from home.”

Great place to stay to explore NI. Clean, well equipped and comfy beds. Owners have thought of everything. Highly recommended.

Thanks Mick, pleased you enjoyed you stay with us and found everything to your liking. We are always pleased to have Australian visitors stay with us and are delighted that you chose our home for your Northern Ireland leg of your European tour. As you found, this area is so central to many of the sites that draws in so many visitors. I am sure you will take home many happy memories to share with your friends. Call again if you're passing by!

“Great location, family home”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2014

This house was superb. It more than catered for our needs and was within walking distance of Portstewart. There was even a lovely restaurant at the end of the road. The house was very clean and was one of the first things I noticed when we arrived. We quickly felt at home and did not have to figure anything out as all electrical appliances were left with clear operating instructions. It was also very child friendly and both kids felt at home in no time and loved their separate bedrooms. Our 3 year old still talks about 'the holiday home'!

Thank you Olga for your kind comments, it is especially nice when the little ones enjoy and remember their holidays. The beach and Promenade are so convenient, you can leave your car keys in the drawer and have a car free, carefree break for a few days. But of course not forgetting to visit all the glorious sights, when the car is useful. You can always use the very good train and bus service. See you next time.

“Lovely bright clean house in a great location!”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2014

Had a 2 night stay here and was so impressed with how lovely this house was- so well kitted out with everything you could think of in the kitchen and lots of wee extras to make your stay more comfortable! Impressive tv system with catch up tv and fast wifi. Beds were so comfy with freshly laundered bed linen. Lovely private garden out the back and closed in to keep kids safe! One welcomed addition would have been a stair gate to contain my 15month old but didn't affect my stay here. George is so helpful when booking and everything is done very professionally! Glad to have found this house in a super location -hope to be back again soon!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay Kathryn and found everything to your satisfaction You got pretty good weather too for the time of year, so you were able to get out and explore our spectacular coastline. Thank you for your review.

“A Great Choice: Town and House”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2014

We are frequent travelers to Ireland, but had never been to Northern Ireland before. There was much we wanted to see, but we prefer not to move around a great deal. We did some research and decided to stay in Portstewart for its smaller size, and proximity to the ocean and to the many sites on the northern coast. Then, we were fortunate enough to find 1 Seafield Park owned by Geoff and Hilda McKinney. The house had everything we needed, and then some. We did some of our own cooking, washed and dried clothes, and found lots of material to help us decide routes, and other things to do. At Geoff's recommendation, and with information in the house, we took a train from nearby Coleraine to Derry/Londonderry and had a great day, including a walking tour. (We'd recommend the open top bus for their walking tour. It includes the walls around the city as well as a walk through the neighborhoods which are the sites of the former "troubles." We had an excellent guide named Bill.) Geoff was helpful about all sorts of information and helped make our stay easy. It was also very easy to make the original rental from the States. I give an unreserved recommendation to 1 Seafield Park, and Geoff and Hilda!

Thank you so much Joyce and Pat for taking time to write such a detailed review. You seemed to have spent your time well. We are always glad to welcome new friends from the States and are pleased that you will, hopefully, have many happy memories from your first visit to N. Ireland. Come back soon and tell your friends!
