Location description from owner

Northern Ireland region

Portstewart is in the North East corner of County Derry, 36 miles from the historic walled city of Derry / Londonderry. To the west of the county lie the beautiful beaches and mountains of Donegal; to the east the famous Antrim coast. Portstewart Golf Club home to 2017 Irish Open & Royal Portrush venue for 2019 Open Championship are just a few minutes drive away. The University town of Coleraine is a renowned shopping centre. The train from Coleraine follows a scenic route past Mussenden Temple and Benone beach to the ancient city of Derry.

Portstewart

The town of Portstewart is situated on the scenic Causeway Coast. There are many places of interest within easy reach including the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, Portballintrae, Bushmills, Ballycastle and by ferry Rathlin Island. There are numerous beautiful sandy beaches in the area including the 2 mile Portstewart Strand, Portrush, Castlerock, Benone and Downhill. Golfers are well catered for with 3 courses in Portstewart including The Strand Course venue for 2017 Irish Open. Nearby Portrush is home to major champions Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell who honed their game on the Royal Portrush Dunluce Links where 2019 Open Championship will be played. Here also is the slightly less daunting Valley Links. Castlerock and Ballycastle are among other gems in the area. Surfing, horse-riding, fishing, canoeing and cycling are also available. The area is also host to the North West 200 motorcycle races, Milk Cup Soccer tournament, Auld Lammas Fair, Red Sails Festival and the International Air Show.

“Serenity - a peaceful and relaxing home from home.”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2014

When I booked my stay at Serenity I never imagined that it could possibly turn out as superbly as it has. When I have been away from home previously there has always been something, however minor that just was not exactly right. At Serenity, everything from the comfortable living room and bedrooms to the fully equipped kitchen made my stay a perfect home from home. The location is quiet, safe and most importantly a very short distance from the beautiful North Antrim Coast. I never tired of the drive from Portstewart to The Giants Causeway watching the waves crashing and walking on the beautiful beaches.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your very kind comments. We are happy to know that Serenity provided you with a home from home experience during your stay.
