Pezenas-Languedoc Holiday Villa Rental, with 22 5-Star TripAdvisor Reviews.

LES VIGNES ANCIENNES is a modern, spacious, architect designed villa, which is our home for most of the year, but which we let to considerate guests during mid summer and mid winter.

We have 3 air conditioned bedrooms, one with its own private roof terrace and views. There is an 8m x 4m private, very low chlorine, salt water pool with a new secluded area for sitting out, shaded by a lush plane tree. Beyond this there is a small flower garden but nearer the house we have a shaded patio for alfresco dining.

The comfortable living room has a high ceiling, large open fireplace and a balcony feature. There is a 55 inch smart TV, which can receive UK satellite and French channels, and a blu-ray player. Many DVDs and books are available for guests' use. Free Wi-Fi is available and our English speaking house manager is on hand for any help or questions during your stay.

The villa is in an elevated position on the edge of a quiet residential area, looking towards open country; a large local supermarket is within 3 minutes walk. We are within an easy 15 minute walk of Pézenas's historic town centre, which has all you need in terms of shops, street cafes and restaurants. For your first night, perhaps, there is also a good restaurant within 7 minutes walk. For ball games, tennis and other leisure pursuits, a local park is just 3 minutes walk away and a selection of spacious, sandy Mediterranean beaches are within a short drive (eg Vias Plage 18 km, Marseillan Plage 24 km, Cap d'Agde, 25 km).

Béziers airport is just 20 minutes drive away, with flights from Luton, Stansted, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, Oslo, Dusseldorf and Paris. Montpellier airport (45 minutes) has daily flights to Gatwick and Saturday flights to Luton as well as many European airports. Both airports are accessible by public transport. Other nearby airports with flights to the UK and Europe are Carcassonne, Nimes, Perpignan and Girona (Spain).

With its excellent location, the villa has quick access to the A 9 and A 75 autoroutes, providing fast links to the many attractions abounding in the Languedoc-Roussillon (Occitanie) and Cévennes areas. Indeed the villa is very easy to find, being about 1km from the A 75 autoroute (toll-free from Clermont-Ferrand, except for the spectacular Millau Viaduct).

Pézenas is described in the Rough Guide as one of the most singularly beautiful towns in the French Southwest. It has a huge Saturday market and there are numerous events staged in the town during an extended season. The old town has a historic buildings trail and a wonderful selection of artisan shops. On two nights of the week in July and August the shops are open until midnight and local wine growers bring their produce to town for you to taste. A little further afield are the city of Montpellier and the ancient fortress of Carcassonne, to mention just a couple of interesting places to visit.

Winter lets are available: December, January, February, March. In winter (except 16 December to 5 January) the second week is half price, or we offer 3 weeks for the price of two. We have full central heating and a log fire is available for guests' use. Sadly, for winter lets, we need to pass on to you the cost of the gas and electricity that you consume during your stay, but there is no charge for any logs that you use.

The pool is normally open between 15 May and 30 September (can be made available earlier or later on request; an additional charge may apply).

Our English Speaking House Manager will visit soon after your arrival to point out features of the villa and answer any questions. She or her husband will then be on hand throughout your stay to answer any queries you may have or to help with any emergencies. After paying the balance of the rent, we will supply you with a code, with which you can access the villa at any time after check-in time.

No smoking at this property

House rules

No smoking in the house, near the pool, or anywhere in the garden please.

No noise after 9:30pm please. Our villa is in a quiet residential district where many of our neighbours need to rise early to carry out their work. Please respect their need for peace and quiet in the late evening and avoid loud conversation or music, jumping into the pool and other noisy activities.

Please put your rubbish in the wheelie bins and place these in the road on collection days as indicated on the bins.

Regarding the location, you may be interested to know that back in 2002, we had the villa designed for, and then built, on a plot of land that we had just purchased. We were so pleased to find a plot in such a quiet but convenient spot for local shopping as well as being within easy walking distance of the town centre. Locating the pool in front, we were also able to design the villa to take advantage of it’s open, south-westerly aspect. You also mentioned that the villa is comfortable and extremely well equipped. This must be because it’s our own home for a large part of the year, so, over time, we have tried to make the villa as nice as possible for us to live in; it’s not just a holiday home! Thanks again for sparing the time to write a review, we hope that you will come back and visit again soon.

How do damage deposits work?
