“I would go back in a heartbeat”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2015

We travelled to Turkey with our two young children (6&4) and met our parents there. Sakin 6 was perfect for us. A minute or two off the beaten track which gave the best of both worlds. Close enough to the busy parts of town but private enough to enjoy our stay. The villa was wonderfully equipped for all our needs. You can easily spend the day at the poolside and in the villa. The kids shallow pool lies below the villa so those with young kids who can't swim yet, it is perfect location! Cleaners are in almost daily changing towels and bedding.Local supermarkets are good value and have all you need to stock up. The free use of Orka hotel was wonderful- a water slide which the kids loved and we always managed to get sunbeds. Also free wifi for those who want it and it's only a 5 minute stroll up a short hill. We hired a car, but there is a taxi button at the entrance which you could use if you don't fancy the walk, the 'Dolmus' taxis are far cheaper and you get these along the main road looking for the 'D' sign.Great places to eat out (yengec our favourite), beaches to visit and trips to go on(jeeps/boat/paragliding)All the info was left by the homeowner . All in all, a great trip!! Nothing to moan about!

“Wonderful relaxing holiday!!!”

My husband and I and our three teenage children spent two wonderful weeks in this lovely bright and airy villa. It is kept to a very high standard and includes regular cleaning with changes of linen and towels. The villa is set in lovely gardens with access to a beautiful swimming pool and loungers. A twenty minute walk takes you into Hisaronu with it's vast array of restaurants, shops and bars. In the nearby Orka hotel we experienced a fantastic Turkish Bath. Our trip was made very easy with the help of the owners who we booked directly with. They provided excellent information and arranged our transfers to and from the villa. Everything was so easy, we would definately recommend Sakin Villa and we hope to revisit sometime soon.

Owner's reply: Thank you Debbie for your kind review. We are so pleased that you all had a great holiday and we would be very happy to welcome you back another time, Kind regards Jackie & Mike

I have fallen in love with Turkey and this villa. I fully intend to come back next year and the year after and the year after.... get my drift? The villa is equipped with everything you need and more. The maids clean it thoroughly before you arrive and bed linen and towels are replaced as if by magic. The hotel is able to sort out any concierge requirements and all the locals are so lovely and friendly. Bit of a walk up the hill if you're not very fit - but hey taxis are very reasonable. Great for all ages and we were a mix of 4 years, teens, 20's and 50 - 60. Fab fab fab.

Owner's reply: Thanks very much for taking the time to write this review. We are so happy that you fell in love with our villa (& Turkey)! and that you all had a nice relaxing holiday. We would be extremely happy to welcome you back anytime! Best wishes Mike & Jackie

“Fabulous Villa, Great Place to Stay”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2012

I visited Villa Sakin with my husband and two teenage children. We stayed for 10 days. The Villa is immaculate and was beyond anything that we had expected. The rooms were large and airy and had all the things that would make this home from home. The kitchen had everything necessary for self catering but because it is so reasonable to eat out that is what we did most of the time. The bedrooms were fabulous especially the master bedroom with the balcony that overlooked the pool and surrounding countryside. The Villa itself is in a magnificent large corner spot which overlooks the pool. The grounds and pool are kept immaculate by a very friendly gardener. The cleaning ladies who came in every few days to clean up were always friendly and smiling ( that was a bonus, to have a villa and someone to do the cleaning) The towels and bedding were all changed regularly. The restaurants at the top of the main road were great. You can get a great full english breakfast for 5 lira which is about £1.80 The people are so friendly and we were made welcome everywhere we went. Hisaronu itself is about a 15 minute walk from the villa but if this too far then just outside the complex on the corner is a taxi button and when pressed, a taxi comes to you. We never waited more than about 3 minutes. The town is lovely with a multitude of different restaurants to choose from. It would be impossible not to find something that you liked. The trips were amazing and such good value. Definitely try the Jeep Safari. It's a long day but well worth it. Mike and Jackie were extremely helpful with everything even organising the transfers to and from Dalaman Airport. This was a plus as this was our first time in Turkey. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that we could use all the Hotel Orka facilities. They were great for changing money, giving directions and anything else we neded advice on. I would definitely recommed a stay at this fantastic villa and will definitely return in the future.

“First class - a very relaxing holiday.”

What a fantastic break!! I'm always a bit nervous when trying out a new holiday destination and whether the accommodation will meet my expectations. I can honestly say that it exceeded them. From the pickup at the airport to the presentation of the villa, gardens and pool everything was well organised and it made for a very relaxing break with my wife and kids, 8 and 10. You arrive to a spacious well designed contemporary villa, equipped for your every need, washing machine, dish washer and fitted kitchen etc. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, with two ensuite shower rooms upstairs and one shower room downstairs. The villa has both an alfresco dining area and a balcony off the master bedroom. Both catch the sun in the evening and overlook the pool area. There were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas to go round. The kids loved the pool and there were other families around and they made friends easily. But people were also respectful of each others space and relaxation. The Orka hotel complex with all its facilities is only 5 min walk away and is available to use. There are swimming pools, spa, restaurants, theme nights etc and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The villa is situated within easy access via dolmus or taxi to Olu Deniz, Hisonaru or Fethiye so there is plenty to do and restaurants to visit. Follow the restaurant recommendations in the visitors book and you won't go wrong. For a special occasion (my daughters 10th birthday) we went to the Yacht club in Fethiye, friendly staff, kids welcome and great views over the harbour and the mountains beyond. If your more adventurous hire a car and take a trip to Patara beach and the Lycian ruins. And then visit Kalkan for a sundowner at the harbour in the evening. A great day out. All in all a very enjoyable break.

“Fantastic in all respects”

Myself and a few friends visited the villa in June 2012 (perfect weather!) and found it a fabulous place to stay with everything catered for from start to finish. The villa is spotless and maintained to a high standard with excellent facilities throughout allowing you to lounge all day if you so desire. However, if you prefer to go out there are many choices just a short walk or a cheap cab ride away. The pool area is one of the cleanest my friends and I have ever experienced on holiday, not only is the pool itself spotless (not so much as a leaf in the water) but the surrounding area is also tidied daily and kept to a very high standard. Owners Mike and Jackie were great from the moment we enquired, letting us know what's in the surrounding areas right through to arranging transfers to and from the airport was easily done. Would highly recommend!

“Fabulous place to stay would definitely recommend - we will be back!”

Me and my husband visited this Villa with our 4 year old daughter and my parent who are in their 50's. This was the second time we had stayed at the villa - we also stayed the year before and as we had such a great time we booked again. The villa is in an ideal location - its in a complex so there are a few other people about but you are not being mithered by people or fighting for sunbeds! You can sit in the garden area and still see the pool. There is a small kids pool which my daughter spent the most of her time in. She loved it. The grounds and outside areas are kept immaculate. Inside the Villa is just as immaculate. The villa is furnished to a high standard with everything you could possibly need whilst you are there. It is just a short stroll (up a big hill) to bars and restarauns in Ovachik. The hill is a bit of a killer in the heat in the day but there is a big yellow taxi button just outside the complex which if you press a taxi will be with you in a few minutes and they are dirt cheap - its not worth sweating!! I like the comfort of the villa being looked after by the hotel - if you have a problem you know the hotel will sort it. They clean the villa every other day which I have never had before in a villa and change the towels. We also went to the BBQ and Turkish night up at th Orka hotel and they come and pick yuou up and take you back after. All in all i cant recommend this place enough. The owners Mike and Jacki are so helpful and will sort anything they can for you. They organised our transfers to and from the airport and we have not had a problem in 2 years. My daughter keeps asking when we can go back so hopefully will be booking again very soon!

“Fantastic villa, great place, absolutely loved it!”

Fantastic holiday. The villa is outstanding, beautiful, clean, modern and has everything you need, with beautiful views and surroundings. The pool area is breathtaking, extremely clean and always maintained to a high standard. The villa is part of the Orka hotel and you can use their facilities if you wish. Just a phone call away and you have a lift up to the hotel and home again. There you can enjoy the Turkish and BBQ nights which are great and you are certainly looked after. It is easy place to get around, regular taxi's and buses with very reasonable prices. The beautiful Blue Lagoon was certainly a place not to miss. The kids really enjoyed themselves, a great water park just up the road. Great shops, markets and fantastic restaurants with good food and bars to choose from in Hisaronu, which is only walking distance from the villa. The people are ever so friendly, helpful and love the kids. Would definately come back and is a great holiday for all.

“fantastic area, simply a must stay”

After many holidays to turkey doing the all-inclusive thing we fancied something different, this delivered. The villa is beautifully presented with everything you need for a family break. The villa is on a site with around ten others all surrounding possibly the cleanest pool we have ever been in, creating a friendly atmosphere & safe environment for the kids. It is overlooked by the stunning Babadag mountain range where if you fancy you can paraglide from down to the fantastic Olu Deniz beach. The villa is part of the Orka hotel up the road so you can either do your own thing or let them look after you, which they do very well, you also have use of the hotels amenities if you want. For the kids there is a good sized water park around 15 mins walk away plus all the usual excursion companies nearby. There are numerous restaurants & bars 15 mins walk away in Hisaronu and the food is just fantastic & not overpriced, also there are plenty of places to grab food to eat if you don't want to leave the villa. The taxi service is second to none so there is no excuse for not exploring the area, of which there are many things to do & see.

“Fantastic villa in a great location - loved it!”

Stayed Sept 2011 for our 3rd time ! Still as good as the first visit - the villa is fantastic with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Beautiful quiet surroundings with large pristine pool. Plenty of restaurants & bars within a short stroll - too many to choose from ! Being able to use the facilities at Orka hotel was great, including their turkish and BBQ nights -they will even drop you the short distance home! Getting around is easy - regular dolmus, very reasonable taxis and even shuttle buses that take you to the beach on the beautiful lagoon. A fantastic place for families but also for us Senior Citizens ! Hope to come back again.
