Description

This pretty Chalet in its own grounds has unrivalled 180 degree views over the Giffre Valley. Nestled partway up the mountain above the resort of Morillon which is in the heart of the Grand Massif Ski area. Built in 2002 the Chalet is a very spacious 300m2, beautifully furnished to the highest standard. The 5 king size double or twin bedrooms are luxuriously equipped, 2 have en suite bathrooms and a further family bathroom.

The open plan ground floor areas centres on a log fire with large comfortable leather sofas, Sky TV, DVD player and sound system available for all your entertainment needs. For the more traditional, a large selection of family games, books and magazines for your enjoyment.

Three sets of patio doors lead from the ground floor to the terrace so the views can be enjoyed whatever the weather and where ever you are in the chalet.

In summer Chalet Setanta is available for self-catering holidays. The large kitchen is fully equipped with fitted oven, hob, microwave American style Fridge Freezer and filter coffee maker.

“First time for everything...”

Well this was our first time in the Grand Massif and our first time in a catered ski chalet with a group of friends. Previously we have always done Crystal Ski type packages in dodgy 3 star hotels. The welcome from our hosts was superb and nothing was too much trouble. There was a lot of good points to write about but the key ones for anyone thinking of going were as follows: Geneva airport - quick and easy to get to from North of England; Pick up and short transfer from airport to resort was brilliant and so much easier than tour operator coach transfers; Delicious food for breakfast and dinner and some great value mountain restaurants; Ski equipment hire great quality and brought to the chalet and fitted was so convenient; The magnificent fireplace in the lounge gave everyone a warm glow on an evening and set the tone for making our own entertainment; Most comfortable bed ever on a ski trip!; Skiing around Morrillon excellent for intermediates like us and easy access to the huge, wider ski area from Vercland; Picturesque Samoens for an evening excursion All in all a wonderful experience thanks to Chalet Setanta and our hosts. .....Recommended

“Best i have stayed in!”

I spent a week with friends at Chalet Setanta, although a car is essential all the amenities are in easy reach, local shops 5 minutes , ski lift 5-10 minutes, its situated in a very pretty area with fantastic views from the chalet balconies. The Chalet was very well presented and beyond my expectations compared with others I have stayed in, very clean and clearly recently re decorated, and very well maintained and looked after, the beds were really comfortable and the showers powerful, in the spotless bathrooms , just what you need after a day on the slopes. The icing on the cake was the food and hospitality of Nick and Nicola, we experienced fantastic food and wine and were well looked after, her pastries and cakes were to die for ! I would highly recommend this Chalet to friends and family , and have done so, I will definitely be going back there

“The perfect ski holiday from start to finish”

We arrived at Geneva airport and were met by Nick - that was it ! From that moment on our every need was met. Driven to Chalet Setanta we were greeted with a glass os something sparkly and beautiful canapes. our ski equipment was delivered to the door where adjustments etc were made and we were on the slope in the afternoon. the bedrooms are comfortable, little extras a really nice touch. The service from Nick and Nicola was fantastic. a different breakfast each morning, A short drive to the ski lift and we were off for the day. a prearranged meeting time or a phone call and we were collected from the comfort of the apres ski bar to be driven back to the chalet and the afternnon treat that awaited. A relaxing shower - unlike previous experiences in other large group chalets there was hot water for all and some. Return to the lounge nicely refreshed to sit by the log fire and within moments Nick is there to offer a glass of wine. then dinner - the piece de resistance !! Nicola's food is fabulous, each meal seeming to be better than the next. WARNING this experience is not good for the waistline !!!! And I suppose i should mention the skiing from Samoens is great and the links to extensive ski runs of the Grand Massif and the ugly but good ski area of Flaine. we had a fantastic week and have already rebooked for next year1

“Fantastic chalet, beautiful location, dream holiday.”

The chalet was extremely comfortable and decorated and furnished to a very high standard.. Happy meals around the table or balcony overlooking some of the most incredible mountain views. My own nicest memory is simply sitting on the balcony in the early morning watching the mountains awaken with a cup of coffee and crispy French bread from the local bakery - complete peace. Memorable evenings in the spacious living room with good friends. Plenty of space for everyone in our group. We went on some great walks around the local area past lakes, waterfalls and awe inspiring mountains! And.... plenty of cafés and picnic areas. The local lake is ideal for swimming and relaxing. Some of the group tried mountain biking and came home tired and happy. The beds were very comfortable with crisp linen and bathrooms of a luxury hotel standard. Everyone in our group has agreed that we will return as soon as we are free again. We would highly recommend Setanta Chalet.
